Marion is one of Riser Phenex’s Pawns.
Appearance[]
Marion is a young girl with shoulder length light brown hair and dark brown eyes, dressed in a buttoned, sleeveless, French maid uniform with a white laced design, along with a standard maid head piece, cuffs, and a white half-apron to go with the set. She also wears light grey tights.
Personality[]
Marion seems to be one who easily underestimates her opponents, as shown when she thought she had the upper hand on Yuuto for outnumbering him while blissfully unaware of his full capabilities.
History[]
Not much is known about her past aside that at one point she joined Riser's peerage.
Plot[]
The Red Dragon Emperor's Awakening[]
Marion first appears in Volume 2 at the Occult Research Club, when Riser introduces his peerage to Rias, after the two of them decide to have a Rating Game. A few days later during the Rating Game, Marion was teamed up with Burent and Shuriya to located the Gremory base, while narrowly disabling obvious traps. The trio ended up facing Yuuto when it's revealed that they were actually being lured into a bigger trap setup by Akeno beforehand that prevents any of them from escaping. Despite their advantage in numbers, Yuuto was still able to defeat all of them.
The Legend of Oppai Dragon and his Lively Companions[]
In the Extra Life of DX.1, Marion participated in her master's rematch against Rias. Like before, Marion teamed up with Bürent and Shuriya, only this time they were defeated by Rossweisse and Gasper.
In Volume 19, Marion participates in the Rating Game between her master and Diehauser Belial.
Powers & Abilities[]
Demonic Power: In the anime, Marion is shown to shoot out blasts of demonic power from her hand that is at least capable of disabling standard level trap spells.
Flight: Being a Devil, Marion can use her wings to fly.
Equipment[]
Pawn Piece (兵士の駒, Heishi no koma): Marion was reincarnated using a Pawn Piece, which initially doesn't grant any special abilities like the other Evil Pieces, but which possesses the ability to use Promotion to gain the abilities of other Evil Pieces.
- Promotion: Being a Pawn, Marion can use Promotion to temporarily gain the traits of a Queen, Rook, Knight or Bishop.
Trivia[]
- Marion is one of two members of Riser's Peerage who is a Pawn, has a French name, and dresses as a French maid, the other being Burent.
- Marion is a French female name which has the meanings of "sea of bitterness" or "sea of sorrow," "rebellion," "wished-for child," and "mistress or lady of the sea." This along with her outfit might suggest she is French.
- Interestingly, both her and Burent's names share the same theme: water.
