Longinus Smasher is a forbidden attack that was initially available to the Boosted Gear through Juggernaut Drive.

Summary[]

In Volume 6, after Issei entered the Juggernaut Drive , Issei used Longinus Smasher to defeat Shalba Beelzebub, presumably killing him though it is revealed that he survived with grievous injuries which resulted in him losing the power of Ophis' snake. However after Issei exited Juggernaut Drive, Longinus Smasher became inaccessible for him to use.

In Volume 12, during the Demonic Beast Riot, Issei combined with Great Red to, he once again manages to temporarily unlock the Longinus Smasher again before losing usage of it a second time.

In Volume 17, during his second fight with Euclid Lucifuge, through the mutual understanding of the Two Heavenly Dragons Issei manages to unlock the Longinus Smasher using the power of Dividing Wyvern Fairy.

In Volume 21, during the Evil Dragon War, Vali in his own DxD armor was able to attain his own version of Longinus Smasher; Satan Lucifer Smasher, which he used to defeat the legendary Evil Dragon Aži Dahāka.

Abilities[]

Longinus Smasher[]

The most powerful attack of the Boosted Gear. A launcher appears from the mouth of the helm of the Scale Mail that is capable of shooting a powerful energy beam that can annihilate almost everything in its path.

Juggernaut Drive

The chest and torso part of the Scale Mail opens revealing a launcher. The launcher starts to shine in red aura and after charging enough energy, a powerful beam attack is released. The blast was shown to be able to defeat Shalba Beelzebub, a Ultimate-class Devil whose power was raised to Satan-class due to consuming Ophis' Snake.

Super Gigantic Balance Breaker

The chest portion of the armor opens up and reveals a cannon. Unlike the other versions, due to Great Red's powers, this version of the Longinus Smasher does not require charging yet can release an attack more powerful than either versions of the Longinus Smasher. Due to Great Red's amplifying the power of the blast, it was shown to be able to destroy the Jabberwocky Anti-Monster, which had immense power and regenerative powers.

Dividing Wyvern Fairy

By having the Red Wyvern attached to the Scale Mail armor and starts transferring power to the Scale Mail, the chest and stomach portion of the armor opens up and reveals a launcher, after charging enough energy, the user then shoots out a powerful beam energy. However, it leaves a strong fatigue on Issei as it drains a lot of his stamina and depending how one uses it, it can change the environment. Due its immense power, the Longinus Smasher has a very long recharge period, with it being a month after it was used. Issei was shown to be able to defeat Euclid Lucifuge who was wearing replica Boosted Gear Scale Mail armor, which enhanced his power.

Diabolos Dragon

In DxD G, Issei is capable of using it without needing the wyverns to enhance his power, as the strength of the Longinus Smasher is amplified by Ophis' Power of Infinity. He can also combine it with Dialobos Dragon's Infinity Blaster for a massive area-of-effect blast. It is shown to be extremely powerful as the combined blast was able to overwhelm the legendary Heavenly Dragon-class Evil Dragon; Apophis' darkness spheres and kill him, overwhelm Ragnarok Earth Berserk Vidar's Fimbulvetr Shot finishing move and forcing him to dodge it, as well as instantly defeat Angra Mainyu.

Satan Lucifer Smasher[]

The most powerful attack of the Divine Dividing. A launcher appears from the mouth of the helm of the Diabolos Dragon Lucifer Scale Mail that is capable of shooting a powerful energy beam that can annihilate almost everything in its path. Vali's Satan Lucifer Smasher was shown to be powerful enough to instantly kill the legendary Heavenly Dragon-class Evil Dragon Aži Dahāka and critically injure Hades, the Greek God of the Dead.
