- This issue is an Invasion! First Strike extra, and a tie-in to the larger story told in the Invasion! miniseries. These crossovers take place in between Invasion! #1 and Invasion! #2, largely dealing with the Alien Alliance's assault on Earth and the way heroes around the world were participating in the initial war effort.
- This story is continued from Firestorm the Nuclear Man #80 which explains where Firestorm, Firehawk and Power Girl were prior to the start of this issue. Although some events are concurrent, it makes more sense if you read that issue first.
- At the end of the issue, Power Girl remarks that the Justice League can be heard in the middle of a fight on the island over. She is referencing events that take place in Justice League International #22.
Trivia
- This is really Starman's first team-up. He hasn't met any other legitimate superheroes until this point.
- In this issue, Firestorm is a composite of Martin Stein, Ronnie Raymond and Mikhail Arkadin although only the dominant Stein personality appears.[1]
