Synopsis for "London's Burning"
As riots break out across London, the Devil Under London Town feeds on the chaos. Excalibur observes the destruction as they fly over the city in the Midnight Runner, and Meggan traces its psychic source to the Blackwall. Wisdom spots Scratch fleeing the building and jumps out to chase after him. On Muir Island, a battered Daytripper materializes in front of Moira and describes battling Margali in Germany after discovering she killed other mystics with the Soulsword. The X-Men arrive in their jet, and Phoenix briefs Moira on Professor X’s possession by Onslaught. Moira tells the X-Men about a secret room Xavier built under her research station. At the Hellfire Club in London, Captain Britain finds the Black Queen standing over the Black King’s corpse just before Mountjoy, possessing Scribe, grabs him from behind. Excalibur breaches the Blackwall and finds Black Air’s security troops in a killing frenzy. Colossus volunteers to hold them off as the rest of Excalibur presses forward. Back on Muir, Moira takes Cyclops and Phoenix into the secret room, and the combination of their brain patterns activates the Xavier Protocols. A hologram of Professor X describes an anti-psionic armor for use in stopping him. In London, Wisdom and Scratch engage in a running battle through the streets. Meanwhile, Daytripper teleports closer and closer to London. Back at the Club, Captain Britain fends off Mountjoy and knocks out the Black Queen. On Muir, Archangel’s presence activates the protocol on how to kill Wolverine if he became dangerous, and Phoenix realizes Xavier thought through how to kill the X-Men. In the Blackwall, Meggan holds off techno-organic Brood, and Nightcrawler defeats the Red King in a swordfight. At the Club, Mountjoy shoots Captain Britain and flees. After viewing the protocol for killing Cable, Moira downloads the Protocols and gives them to Phoenix. In the Blackwall, Nightcrawler, Shadowcat, and Wolfsbane find Margali with Douglock’s head. Daytripper arrives and explains Margali’s scheme to control the Devil’s power. Shadowcat hacks into Douglock’s mind and restores his consciousness. Having dodged Mountjoy's gunshot, Captain Britain catches up to him and literally pounds him into the ground. Elsewhere, Scratch is about to kill Wisdom, but Lockheed incinerates Scratch with fire breath. In the Blackwall, Douglock explains he is hardwired to the Devil’s underground tomb. Nightcrawler teleports Wolfsbane and Daytripper there, Wolfsbane severs the link, and Daytripper restores the binding spell trapping the Devil inside. Margali vanishes, and Excalibur gathers outside the Blackwall. Wisdom explains his friends in the intelligence community are coordinating emergency services, and Excalibur gets the credit for taking down Black Air and the Hellfire Club.

- Mountjoy shoots Captain Britain with the special bullets the Captain's father helped create and reveals the Hellfire Club's sale of those bullets to Genosha is why the Captain's father left the Club. The Captain first learned about the bullets in Excalibur #87.
