~ Kara standing up to Brainiac in order to defend Earth from him. |
Kara Zor-El, also known as Supergirl and formerly known as The Kryptonian Warrior, is one of the main characters of the 2023 superhero cartoon series My Adventures with Superman.
Born into the House of El, Kara is the daughter of Zor-El, the brother of Jor-El, thereby Kal-El's paternal cousin. She was sent away by her father in the last moments before Krypton fell, the same day when Clark was sent away by his parents.
But it was all for naught as Kara was found by Brainiac, following the aftermath of her home planet's destruction, Kara was raised and brainwashed in to becoming the Warrior to serve the evil machine as his second in command in his campaign to conquer throughout the universe.
After overcoming her brainwashing with the help of her cousin and her new friends, Kara chose to protect her new home alongside her new family, becoming the heroine known to the world as Supergirl.
In Season 1, she was voiced by Kari Wahlgren. For the remainder of the series, she is voiced by Kiana Madeira.
Appearance[]
Kara is a blonde, blue-eyed young woman with a rather voluptuous yet lean built figure. After the final battle with Brainiac, she briefly gained a large cut over her right cheek due to Kryptonite poisoning, but it healed in a short amount of time.
Outfits[]
The Warrior Outfit[]
As the Warrior, she is seen wearing a black and white bulky combat suit with the House of El family crest on her chest, a red cape and a helmet with only one glowing red eye. During and after her fight with Superman it stopped being bulky and matched Kara's slender frame and was now black with red lining. She had tall, spiked shoulder pads and lost the cape and helmet. Kara's jawline was also covered in armor.
Causal Civilian Clothing[]
On Earth, she wears a black vest with her family's crest on the left side over a white shirt, blue pants and black flats. She also wears a black bracelet with a red stone on her right wrist which is actually her combat suit.
During her time recuperating at the Kent Farm, Kara wore a pink sweater and blue short jeans.
In a sneak peek of Season 3, Kara is wearing a white T-Shirt with blue sleeves and green crocodile cargo pants.
Supergirl Costume[]
After being healed by the sun's rays her Kryptonian Armor suddenly altered its appearance to match Superman's with a few differences; her red cape comes with a red scarf, the yellow lining is around her ankles instead of the knees, her belt buckle is slightly smaller than Superman's and her crest doesn't have yellow lining.
Personality[]
As the Warrior, she seems to be very confident. When she is told that Earth is in rebellion, she simply dismisses it, saying that they will conquer it in the end. Having no qualms in seeing a world burn with the citizens screaming, seeing it as natural for conquering. Due to being under Brainiac's care and being brainwashed, Kara believes all Kryptonians should be warriors, as such she looks down on Clark's lifestyle, then deeming him to be both a joke and a disappointment. She also seems to be border-on aggressive as she attacked Clark without hesitation when ordered to. However, she was hesitant to keep fighting in front of innocent citizens, seeing how visibly scared they were, only to continue when being controlled by the evil machine. It is later revealed that her Warrior persona was the result of Brainiac placing her under mind control and utilizing mental conditioning, as Kara’s true self becomes horrified and traumatized by the acts of genocide and violence she committed to her cousin and others. In truth she was lied to by Brainiac who stated the planets that she actually destroyed had become part of the New Kryptonian Empire.
Her entire world shattered when she overcame her brainwashing and learns the terrible truth that Brainiac is a warmongering tyrant willing to kill those who refuse his rule and that he brainwashed her to commit horrible and violent atrocities to the worlds he conquered, to her cousin and so many others.
After meeting her long-lost cousin and befriended some Earthlings, she slowly began to break free from the brainwashing and realizing she can choose what kind of person she wants to be. Wising to redeem herself for her past actions under her brainwashing she decided to follow the right path and became a hero of planet Earth and honor Krypton's wish for peace. Since she began living on Earth Kara has become much happier as well as fully becoming her true self, while still retaining her warrior spirit.
Kara's true self is curious, compassionate, and conflicted beneath the brainwashed exterior. She loves the taste of Earth's food, so much so that she makes Jimmy spend nearly a thousand dollars of his money on her for food.
