Her sister was the mother of Jas Emari, who ventured into bounty hunting by the time of the Galactic Civil War.
Biography[]
Sugi was a Zabrak from the Planet Iridonia. During her lifetime, she became a bounty hunter. She had a sister and was the aunt of Jas Emari, who would become a bounty hunter like her aunt.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars[]
Sugi and her team of bounty hunters were hired by the Felucians led by Casiss to protect their village from a group of Weequay pirates led by Hondo Ohnaka in exchange for a portion of their nysillin crops. During the job, Sugi and her friends encountered Obi-Wan, Anakin and Ahsoka who were looking to verify the destruction of their medical station, holding them at gun point until Casiss prevented the tension from rising once he saw that the intruders were Jedi and believed they could help them. However, Sugi disagreed because it was their job first. That night, the Weequay pirates returned and Sugi personally faced them, where the pirates leader, Hondo Ohnaka offered to pay her double of what the Felucians offered, but Sugi disagreed. ObiWan attempted to bribe Hondo, but refused and warned he would return after the Felucians harvested their crop. However, the Jedi convinced the Felucians to fight back and much to Sugi's annoyance, the Jedi and bounty Hunters decided to work together, where she disagreed with Obi-Wan Kenobi how to handle the farmers. During their training, Sugi oversaw the transport of nysillin into the barn, and told the villagers to hide there to make them easier to defend. She later spotted a scout for Hondo and Embo killed him, but because the pirate would know that his spy did not return, Sugi, the bounty Hunters and the Jedi fought Hondo when he arrived.
During the skirmish, Embo was injured, and Sugi carried him to safety while fighting alongside Obi-Wan as Anakin confronted Hondo, but she lost fellow bounty Hunter Rumi Paramita. Hondo later called off his attack when he nearly fell off of his transport, considering this job no longer profitable. After befriending Anakin, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka Sugi offered them a lift back home, having a different opinion of the Jedi.
Later, Sugi was hired by the Wookiee general Tarfful to rescue his friend, Chewbacca, who had been kidnapped by Trandoshan pirates. Among the other prisoners was Ahsoka, the Padawan Sugi once worked with back on Felucia. She dropped them off at the Jedi Temple, where she conversed with Jedi Masters Yoda and Mace Windu before departing.
In 19 BBY, Sugi and bounty hunters Embo, Razzi and Dengar were hired by the Hutts guarding Gardula the Elder's Palace until Darth Maul, his brother, Savage Opress, and Death Watch leader Pre Vizsla, demanding the Hutt's submission or die and the hutts refused, calling the Bounty Hunters to kill of the Shadow Collective members. The hunters were pushed back once Bo-Katan Kryze and her Nite Owls appear on the scene. Sugi tried sneaking up behind Maul, but he pushed her aside as Razzi and Dengar threw their smoke bombs at Sith before Sugi and Embo decided to flee. Maul let her go, believing that she and her allies were just bounty hunters and that they were loyal to no one.
She later convinced her niece, Jas, to become a bounty hunter, and she operated during the Imperial era and participated in the battle of Jakku, where Emari convinced Embo and Dengar's partnership with Sugi to convince them not let Mecurial Swift hand her over to the Black Sun.
