“ | Avar: Stellan always saw the Force as the firmament. As brilliant and expansive as all the stars in the galaxy. He told me that he saw the three of us as a constellation... An incomplete one now. Elzar: No. He's still with us, as surely as the Force is with us. Stellan has become one with the Force, after all. And when we think of him—we can always find him, as long as we look to the sky. Our polestar still shines. |

~ Avar Kriss and Elzar Mann sharing words about Gios in the wake of his death. |
Stellan Gios is one of the main protagonists of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project.
Gios was a member of the Jedi Order who was particularly close with fellow Jedi Avar Kriss and Elzar Mann. He was somewhat socially inept compared to Kriss and Mann, and his long-winded lectures about the teachings of the Jedi Order were well known. Naturally his inclination towards teaching led him to take an apprentice named Vernestra Rwoh. Rwoh would prove to be a prodigy who passed the Jedi Trials to become a Jedi Knight before she was sixteen years old.
After years of exemplary service, Stellan was inducted into the Jedi High Council as one of the twelve highest-ranking members of the entire Order. As the youngest of the Council, Gios was viewed as an example for the younger members of the Order to follow.

History[]
Early Life[]
Stellan Gios was a Force-sensitive human male who, like all Jedi, was consensually taken from his parents as an infant to be trained by the Jedi Order. Gios grew up in the Jedi Grand Temple on the capital planet Coruscant, and was particularly close with fellow Jedi Avar Kriss and Elzar Mann. He was trained to harness the light side of the Force to keep peace throughout the galaxy. As a youngling, he constructed his own lightsaber. Eventually, the Duros Jedi High Council member Rana Kant chose Gios as her Padawan learner.
As a Padawan, Gios participated in the Solstice Tide celebrations occurring in Galactic City. The Solstice Tide was a festival held during the winter season of Coruscant, and Gios greatly enjoyed visiting the festivities. Alongside his friends Kriss and Mann, Gios eventually completed his Jedi Trials and became a Jedi Knight. During the graduation ceremony, Mann's master Quarry commented on the closeness of the three and called them the "three firebrands."
Over time, Stellan became well known for lecturing people on the various topics he was knowledgeable on. He developed a passion for teaching people, although many incorrectly thought that he just liked the sound of his own voice. As an adult, Gios took a Padawan learner of his own—a Mirialan girl named Vernestra Rwoh. Rwoh was a prodigy who passed the Jedi Trials and became a Jedi Knight at the unusually young age of sixteen. Stellan himself ascended to to the rank of Jedi Master at some point.
