Motochika Chōsokabe (Japanese: 長宗我部 元親) is a character in the Samurai Warriors series. He is the daimyo of Shikoku and one of the leaders of Chōsokabe family.
He was voiced by Ryōtarō Okiayu, who also voiced Zero, Long Shin, Lee Chaolan, and Sima Shi.
History[]
Motochika was said to be not very stubborn who has carried out small and loyal resistance to Hideyoshi's invasion forces. There are not many words, but the secret is the enthusiasm of the soul. Motochika hates being dragged by the times, obeying the instructions of others, and getting up and resisting. In order to complete the great cause of the reunification of Shikoku area, the troops were recruited from Tosa.
Although he wins the battle of Shikoku, Motochika eventually surrendered to their most army, but he should be able to keep them safe and joined the Hideyoshi's forces to conquer Kyushu. During their battle, he was attacked by a Shimazu ambush and trapped by a row of riflemen. As a result, Nobuchika protected his father from shooting and death and Motochika seemed to be touched by others. Motochika is a good friend with Mitsuhide.
At the request of his friend, he provided Nobunaga with a naval fleet to resist the Motonori ship at Miyagawaguchi. Motochika was curious to learn that his friend served Nobunaga's true intentions and decided to stayed with his friends in Tedorigawa. Since the west and east resistance to against Nobunaga has ended, Motochika reasonably predicts that the conqueror will target his home and meet the challenge.
Unable to rescue Mitsuhide from death, Motochika inherited his own soul and melody to resist the will of the age. As well as everything needs to go forward with his troops, Motochika was only one who can understand its ideas and becomes unsatisfactory in the battle, it is possible that he is also died in Sekigahara.
