Sir Irons IVアイランズ卿Ⅳ, Airanzu Ⅳ is a supporting character in the Hellsing series created by Kohta Hirano. He is voiced by Tomohisa Aso in the Japanese sub and David Collier in the English dub.

He's the great-grandson of Sir Hugh Irons and an apprentice of General Rob Walsh. His great-grandfather's identical mirror back when he was still young, it is Irons IV's duty to take care of a disastrous event like the "Airship Affairs" back in 1999, had it ever occurred again, and without taking up arms.

Appearance[]

In terms of physical appearance, he's quite similar to his great-grandfather back in the 1940s, during the World War II era. He had blonde, short combed hair, slicked to the left and high-arching eyebrows. He also had blue eyes, similar to his great-grandfather. Differences between his great grand-father is that he's generally way more well-built. Irons IV dons a light-blue plaid dress shirt, with a dark-red tie under a green double-breasted suit with matching trousers, and brown business shoes. Irons IV also wears rectangle-framed glasses. He's also one of the few characters in Hellsing that bears no gloves of any color.

Personality[]

Similar to his great-grandfather, Irons IV appears to be a man who is confident and calm and harbors dedication towards his position and job. Worrying that if a disastrous event like the "Airship Affairs" had ever happen again, Irons IV delayed his fencing training just to research through multiple newspapers and outlets to learn more about the situation, so he could deal with the situation without "taking up arms" had it ever happened in the future. This shows his true dedication.[2]

History[]

Making his first appearance in the epilogue of the series, Sir Irons IV decided to not participate in a fencing match against his comrades and instead decided to stay in the late Rob Walsh's office to write about the incident that happened over 30 years ago, the "The Airship Affair," including how many had died in the US and the UK on that fateful night. In the middle of writing a page about it on the typewriter; however, he was interrupted by General Rob Walsh, one of the two last surviving members of the Round Table back in 1999. He asks if Irons has a fencing match today; Irons responds that he'll be on his way. Then, commented about the fact that if the incident way back from 1999 occurs yet again, it'll be his job to resolve it, without taking up arms; Rob Walsh said that when he makes that face, he really looks a lot like his great-grandfather.

Relationships[]

Allies[]

  • General Rob Walsh: Rob Walsh took Irons IV under his wing and taught him many things in order to set him up as the future president of the Round Table had he (Walsh) ever passed away. When Irons IV decides to delay his appearance at the fencing match and instead look into the situation that happened thirty years ago, Irons IV stays in Walsh's office. Walsh notes that Irons IV shares a resemblance with his (Irons IV) great-grandfather.[3]
