What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He was highly abusive of his daughter-wives and would beat and rape them to have more daughters.
- If he had a son, he would take them and offer them to the Cold Gods (the Others, or White Walkers) as a way to maintain his authority as a patriarch in his keep and also appease the Others.
- In the TV show, it is revealed that Craster's offerings are not true sacrifices, as all his infant sons are turned into living White Walkers. This makes Craster responsible for the creation of numerous more demons of ice capable of resurrecting the dead, making Craster responsible of aiding the White Walkers and adding to their strength. While the lives of the babies were not sacrificed, their humanity was. What this means to the novels remains unknown, however, as it has not been revealed what happened to Craster's sons, and it is still believed they were sctually sacrificed. Furthermore, the Others might have different objectives, and Craster's wives are never attacked by them.
- He does not care to his daughter-wives and when Gilly was screaming during birth he wanted for her to be quiet or he will punch her in the mouth. He also compared her birth to the birth of his pig who gave birth eight puppies without wailing.
- In the TV show, when he met Jon Snow, Craster was hostile to him and would constantly insult and threaten him. At one point, Craster assaulted him when Jon found out that he sacrificed one of his sons to the White Walkers.
- He also expelled all members of the Night's Watch due to John's discovery, only allowing them to return later and without John with them.
- As Jeor asked his for information he conditioned an answer in exchange for the axes of the commanders.
- Mocked Sam Tarly and suggested his friends cannibalize him, since he has a lot of meat.
- As one night watch man broke his leg and could not do any work, he prevented him from getting food until he starved to death.
- Craster was a lazy, sauntering, and abusive individual. He was constantly antagonistic to his allies, the Night Watch, and only saw his daughter-wives as objects.
- In his final moments, he proclaimed that he was a good individual and did not see anything wrong with what he had done.
