The dodo is a reoccurring taxidermy statue at the front door of the Mystery Shack. It's most likely a fake, but since Dipper and Mabel mention dodos, maybe dodos actually still exist in Gravity Falls. It is most likely used for a tourist attraction, a way for Stan Pines to make money.
History[]
The dodo first appeared in "The Hand That Rocks the Mabel" in the background when Mabel answers the door. The dodo can then be seen again on the same table at the front door throughout episodes. Its last appearance was in "Weirdmageddon 3: Take Back The Falls" in the fallen apart Mystery Shack pinned under some rubble. Additionally, its first appearance story wise is in "A Tale of Two Stans" when Stan Pines goes to visit Ford Pines where the dodo can be seen on a table with a glass cover on it.
Appearance[]
The dodo is a large, plump bird with greyish white feathers, a yellow long, curved beak and yellow talons. It has tiny wings and a small tail. It also has a very refined backside, a curvy back and a long neck. Its body is almost entirely covered in feathers except the beak and talons.
Trivia[]
- Despite the dodo appearing in many episodes, the only mention of it is in Mabel's line "Let's get two dodos and force them to make out!" from "The Time Traveler's Pig".
