The Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel is the name of an organization that Filbrick Pines was a part of. It is also the name of a banner hanging in the Mystery Shack.

Name first revealed in Mystery Shack Mystery.
Its name is first revealed in the online game Mystery Shack Mystery. Stan Pines has a banner with its symbol in the living room and in the gift shop of the Mystery Shack. It is also featured in Dipper's and Mabel's Guide to Mystery and Nonstop Fun!
In the Box Set , there is a hidden commentary for "Land Before Swine" where Stan talks about The Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel. He mentions that the fez belonged to Filbrick Pines, his father. Filbrick would come home late either the first/second Thursday of every month. Stan reveals that the group was a masonic lodge and that it was, "Just a bunch of old guys who worshipped like, a fish in a tank." He also mentions that the group did rituals and that it was related to brotherhood.
Appearance of the banner[]
The banner is a yellowish color with an Egyptian death mask painted on it. There are stars above it, and a crescent below it.

- "holymackeral" is the name of Alex Hirsch's DeviantArt account, which is no longer up.
- The design is very reminiscent of the Shriner's symbol, whose fez Alex Hirsch had been wearing during Mystery Tour 2013.
- The banner and other Shriner-reminiscent items found in the Mystery Shack were acquired by Stan from someone else.[1]
- It was revealed in Gravity Falls: Journal 3 that Filbrick Pines was a member of The Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel, so Stan likely acquired the items from him.[2]
- Filbrick had originally given his fez to Ford Pines, believing that Ford would join the Order. But when Stan took over the house, he took the hat to use as a showman. [3]
- There was a YouTube channel that was well known for having a series about the secret society of the same name, which was dedicated to discovering, decoding, and protecting the secrets of Gravity Falls. All videos on the channel were made private for unknown reasons in 2023.
