Salamander is a backstory character in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. He is the Fire Dragon who blood-bonded with the Crusader Fjalar during the Miracle of Dahna, bestowing upon her the magic tome of Valflame. According to legends, Salamander appeared in the guise of an elderly man, reminiscent of Bantu from the Archanea Series.
"Salamander" is also the name of the Fire Dragon tribe of Archanea. The tribe may have been named after the Legendary figure or vice versa.
In Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, Mannu says he will sacrifice Marth's army to Salamander, who is heavily implied to be a fire dragon analogue to Naga due to both being referred to as guardian gods (しゅごしん). The reference to Salamander was removed in the remake, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, for unknown reasons.
