Wind Slash is a physical ability for Lightning in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. It is a physical oriented version of the Aeroga spell exclusive to the Blue Mage garb. It deals heavy physical wind-elemental damage to multiple foes in a large radius.

Wind Slash Lv. 3 is automatically obtained as the locked ability for the Blue Mage garb, which can be obtained from the "Free Will" quest in Yusnaan.
Mechanics[]
When Lightning uses Wind Slash, she launches a massive cyclone at it and the surrouding foes, dealing eight heavy wind-elemental physical attacks to the targets. If the opponent is susceptible to wind-elemental attacks, or is inflicted with the Curse and Imperil statuses, they will be launched into the air.
The ability's damage depends on Lightning's current physical attack power. It costs 40 ATB to perform and can be used while airborne.

Wind Slash appeared as one of the SR and SR+ Lightning Legend summons. It summoned Lightning into battle to attack a target.
Etymology[]
In the Japanese version, Wind Slash is called Kamaitachi. Kamaitachi (literally known as "Sickle Weasel") is a Japanese yōkai often told about in the Kōshin'etsu region, or can also refer to the strange events that this creature causes. They appear riding on dust devils, and they cut people using the nails on both their hands that are like sickles. One would receive a sharp wound from it, but there is no pain.
