Magic Items (魔法アイテム Mahō Aitemu) are objects with magical properties.
Description[]
Since the Magic is stored within the item, they can be used by anyone who wields them, not just Mages,[1] and sold even in Magic stores, although there are rarer items that are difficult to find and obtain.[2]
Other items however do specifically require a the holder’s own Magic Power in order to utilize them, these are typically shown in items for transport on vehicles or combat for various types of weapons and armaments. Said weapons a Mage can also be imbued with a Mage's Magic, augmenting the item‘s offensive means, this is normally shown when a Mage's aura is enveloping the item, releasing their full power onto the target to cause massive damage than normal, the amount of depends on how much Magic Power the user pours into the item.[3][4][5][6][7]
The most notable Magic Items are Lacrima, a crystallized form of Magic that's sometimes modelled as certain types of devices for a multitude of purposes. Mages can charge up a Lacrima with their Magic, giving it the same magical properties the Mage in question has.[8] Lacrimas can also be used as batteries and fuel to power up Magic Items for them to function.[9][10]
Magic can also be used to power more technology machinery, either by having a Lacrima or a Mage's power as its constant fuel source when in use, such as motor vehicles,[11] cannons,[12] airships,[13] and even massive mechanical robots.[14]
Edolas Items[]
Edolas Items (エドラス魔法 Edorasu Maho) were a specific type of Magic Items from the world of Edolas where Magic is limited, there no one can produce their own Magic power and relied solely on Magic based items installed with Lacrimas to produce varying effects.[15]
Classifications[]
Magic Items can be classified by their purpose or usage.
- Everyday Objects: Magical Items are items that have practical applications in everyday life.[16]
- Weapons: Magic Items that are used in battle or for defense by the user, ranging from swords,[17] shields,[18] guns[19] and more.[20]
- Armors: Magic Items that are worn by the user. These usually have magical properties that give the user some type of advantage in battle.[21]
- Vehicles: Magical Items used for transportation, be it land,[22] sea[23] or even sky.[24]
