The Celestial Spirit World (星霊界 Seireikai) is the dimension where the Celestial Spirits reside.
Description[]
The Celestial Spirit World is the place where all Celestial Spirits are from and spend their time when they are not being called upon by their summoners. It is presumably ruled by the Celestial Spirit King. Being in the world seems to have some sort of rejuvenating effect on the spirits, restoring their health after being in the human world which, over long periods of time, can potentially kill the spirit. The reverse is also possible: humans are unable to breathe in their world, so after a period of time, albeit a much shorter one, they would die. Such an occurrence (a human entering the Celestial Spirit World) is a serious breach of contract.[1]
Natsu was able to enter and survive for just an extremely brief period in the Celestial Spirit World when he caught hold of Virgo just as she passed through the spirit world to reappear elsewhere in the human world at Everlue's command. This rule can be even lifted by order of the Celestial Spirit King when inviting Team Natsu into the Celestial Spirit World for a celebration. One of the places in the Celestial Spirit World is a restaurant where patrons can see auroras, which was mentioned by Scorpio. A human can stay in the Celestial Spirit World for a short time if he or she wears Celestial Spirit clothes.[2]
The time in the Celestial Spirit World is different with respect to the human world: a day in the celestial spirit world is approximately three months in the human world.[3]
It seems to have several different celestial objects such as planet-like globes floating in the air and at first glance, the void appears to stretch on infinitely with sparkling stars that spread everywhere. On these surfaces appear several rainbow colored constructions such as pathways under massive arches that can bridge to other globes with pillars, crystals and trees surrounding them with floating bubbles, as well as several buildings and a massive ship shown from a distance.[4] Other locations include a bookshelf housing countless books.[5] This world includes unique foods and ingredients such as stardust butter[6] and pickled plums with the light of Regulus.[7]
Localization[]
The Celestial Spirit World is its own dimension parallel to Earth Land.
Magic[]
Much like Earth Land, the spirit world also contains magic which the locals utilize, both Holder and Caster-Types. However, every spirit has a style of Magic unique exclusively to them, such as Regulus used by Leo the Lion.[8] Even when some Spirits do still use Magic present on Earth Land, they preform exclusive spells based on stars tied to their constellation.[9] In the event a Spirit gets banished from its world and bound to the Human realm, they'll lose their original Celestial Spirit Magic and may have to rely on a different Magic in said realm, until should their banishment ever be lifted.[10]
Various magical items also exit used by some Celestial Spirits to cast their Magic, typically a personalized item, not every Spirit wields a weapon that’s magic based. The aforementioned item appears tied to its spirit holder, should the Celestial Spirit return to its world, so too does their items.[11][12] garments from the spirit world allows any Humans wearing them to survive the world’s environment. Powerful spirits are able to pass through their Gates between their world and Earth Land or whatever world their summoner is present on, with or without being summoned.[13][14]
Races[]
Whiles the spirit world houses all the Celestial Spirits, some of them seem to vary in species, the most notable of which are the Nikora, tiny snowman-like creatures that also vary in colors. The rest of the spirits appear based on the animal or concept of the constellation they take after, some of which are anthropomorphized and appear similar to humans with some notable animalistic features. Despite their animal-like qualities, they have no issue consuming similar animals such as crab and ram.[15]
