Trivia

• This is the second and last time we see Chester's mom in the picture frame. The first was in Sleepover and Over.
• This is Norm's third and final appearance in the show. He is also voiced by Robert Cait instead of Norm Macdonald, who was unavailable.
• Timmy dresses up as Mr. Crocker in this episode so he can fool the fairies into thinking that he's the real Mr. Crocker so that he can get his fairy godparents back.
• This is the second and last time Chester has a fairy godparent. The first was in It's A Wishful Life.
• This episode was included in a DVD and VHS of the same name.
  • Additionally, this was the last Fairly OddParents VHS released, as well as one of the last VHS releases from Nickelodeon overall (The last major Hollywood movie to be released on the format is believed to be "A History of Violence" on March 14, 2006, and the "Fairy Idol" VHS was released on May 23rd of that same year). This means that Fairy Idol is among the very last pieces of media ever to be officially released on prerecorded VHS.
• Santa Claus is extremely buff in this appearance, despite him being shown as large in other appearances.
• This is the first time we see the invention Mr. Crocker made the portal to Fairy World. The second and last will be Man's Worst Friend.
• In this episode, it's revealed that Cosmo sings Soprano (despite being a guy).
• In this episode, Wanda calls the Timmy clone a "twerp," a well-known line said by Vicky.
• Like Abra-Catastrophe!, Channel Chasers, School's Out!: The Musical, Jimmy Timmy Power Hour, When Nerds Collide! and The Jerkinators!, an alternative version split into 3 parts also exists with redesigned title cards. This was primarily designed for international broadcasters such as the BBC, who sometimes aired the show inside another show (such as Dick & Dom in da Bungalow). However, on occasion the BBC has aired the full length special as a separate program.
  • However, on Paramount + UK and Ireland this episode is split into two parts, and so will Netflix US and Canada.
• This is the second time Cosmo turn himself into a green chicken just like in Inspection Detection.
  • Also in the performance, the gnomes in red suits sang Not Pixies, this is a parody of the Fairly Odd Parents Song Da Pixie Rap, which happened after School's Out.
• This special reunites Carlos Alazraqui and Tom Kenny, who had previously worked together on two other nick shows, Rocko's Modern Life and CatDog.
• Blonda's reaction to Juandissimo's performance of "I'm Too Sexy For My Sexy" indicates that she's in love with him.
• This is one of the few times where Timmy uses something that is supposed to be bad to his advantage as he tricked Norm to go without magic for two whole weeks causing him to explode from Magical Build-up.
• Cosmo and Wanda can only do well in a duet (which nearly cost them had it not been for Cosmo's quick thinking).
• Cosmo reveals he has a celebrity crush on Diana DeGarmo who provides his singing voice this episode.
• Norm reveals that genies have made a video about what people usually wish for:
  • 1.) The most common thing for the first wish is what they personally want, like a giant sandwich (or something to do with giant food).
  • 2.) When it comes to the second wish, people often wish for stuff something megalomaniac until it goes wrong.
  • 3.) For the third wish, people usually unwish everything that had happened (saying something like, "I wish I never met [the genie]!").
• The Tooth Fairy sings Chip Skylark's song My Shiny Teeth and Me, marking this episode as one of the song's many appearances.
• When Santa was swimming up to the hot girls, he quotes "How would you like it to be Christmas every day?" He was referring to the Season 1 episode, Christmas Everyday!.
• For an unknown reason, in the credits for this episode on the dvd version, the usually instrumental credits has the vocals over it.
• This is the first time we see a Bucky McBadbat Stadium, the second time will be Scary GodCouple.
• Chester breaks the fourth wall be asking Norm if he noticed the spinning rainbow behind him.

Allusions

• American Idol - The complete episode and the TV Show, Fairy Idol are spoofs on the famous reality show.

  

  • Also, Simon Cowell makes an appearance as himself (Simon Sparklefield) in Fairy Idol. Not mentioning, that Fairy William Hung appears in the competition and, Ironically, he didn't win unlike he did in the real show.
• The Fairly OddParents Theme - Fairy William Hung sings the song in an off-key voice during the competition.

• The Simpsons - Timmy says "Excellent!" in the same manner as Mr. Burns.

• SpongeBob SquarePants - The plot of episode is similar to episode "Have You Seen This Snail?"

• Right Said Fred - The song "I'm Too Sexy for My Sexy" by Juandissimo is a parody of "I'm Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred.

• I Dream of Jeannie - One of the genies who are with Norm when he got magical build-up bears resemblance to Barbara Eden's character, Jeannie.

• Men in Black - Jorgen's method of erasing Timmy's memory of Cosmo and Wanda involves a device similar to the Neuralyzer used by agents in the "Men in Black" franchise.

Goofs

• Why is Juandissimo competing in Fairy Idol to become a Fairy GodParent if he's already Remy Buxaplenty's godparent? (Unless reassigned for the events of the F.U.N. episode)
• Cosmo and Wanda went for 24 hours(one day) without granting wishes and they exploded, but Norm the Genie exploded in two weeks (a fortnight).
• During the song Gimme The Wand, there are a few scenes where Norm has legs.
• When Chester goes around the world, visiting the Arctic, there are penguins there. This is illogical, as they are actually found in the Antarctic.
• Why would Blonda want Wanda to win? Wanda took Blonda's zappy in Blondas Have More Fun!.
• In the scene when Chester used the pager Norm gave him by TV's "R" US, Norm didn't have a crown when he showed up taking a bath.
• Jorgen's claim that there are no duets in Fairy Idol is contradicted by Cosmo performing alongside Norm.
• In the first few airings, when Jorgen said "I don't want beaver doodie on my stage.", the captions said DUTY in place of DOODIE. It was as if it were beaver work, instead of beaver poop. This was fixed in subsequent airings.
  • And how can one clean up another one's work? Well, sometimes work can be messy.
• Rob Paulsen's name is misspelt as "Rob Paulson" in the ending credits.
• On Paramount + UK and Ireland, at the end of part 2 the end credits are not shown.
  • This error also occurs in Timmy's Secret Wish!
• Even though a Competition makes sense on who would take Cosmo and Wanda's place, why was it a Singing competition instead of a Magic Competition?

Norm: (After 2 weeks of not granting a wish) And then I said who cares?

Norm: I'll tell you in song!

Jorgen: Binky, I need more ominous music. Play track seven. [Binky turns on a track on a CD which plays "Pop Goes the Weasel"] I SAID TRACK SEVEN!

Binky: Sorry! (Switches the track on the CD to track 7) Sorry!

AJ: We don't feel like thinking anymore. SURF'S UP DUDES!!

Norm: Oh, but before I grant your wishes, I QUIT! HA! IM NOT A FAIRY ANYMORE! DOUBLE HA HA!

Norm: You think I care? I still jerked Timmy out of his godparents and those two floating nitwits are out of a job! I still won!

Chester: [to Norm] Not yet! You lied to me! You tricked me and you used me to hurt my best friend! Nobody makes a fool out of Chester Mcbadbat! Except the school system, the government, and every girl I've ever met!

Norm: Uh, Chester, uh buddy, pal... easy...easy!

Girls: They're bald! Gross!

Wanda: Now I accept your apology!

Norm: You're kidding, right?

Chester: Don't you see the rainbow around me?

Chet Ubetcha: I'm Chet Ubetcha, and the world is not great! This is "World in Crisis: Minute One"! The Sahara Desert is now a gigantic mudpit! The polar icecaps are melting!
