The party of Dragon Quest VII, is the group of people who upon accidentally discovering the time travelling propreties of the Shrine of Mysteries, began travelling through long-lost lands, solving their struggles and restoring them back into the present, unwittingly foiling the plans of the Demon King Orgodemir.

Members[]

  • The Hero- The son of Pilchard Bay's best fisherman, Pollock, the young hero couldn't wait to sail the seas, so alongside his best friend, Prince Kiefer began working on restoring a humble boat, while being pestered by Maribel, the daughter of the local mayor. When the three of them stumbled upon the Shrine of Mysteries and discovered its secret, they began travelling through time, in the process discovering the truth about their world.
  • Kiefer- The crown prince of Estard, Kiefer couldn't stand the formalities and responsibilities of the crown, dreaming to instead travel the world free. When he, alongside his best friend Hero and Maribel, discovered the secret of the Shrine of Mysteries, Kiefer took the opportunity immediately, beginning to travel through time to both explore the long-lost lands and help the people in need. However, when he and the party met the tribe of the Roamers, Kiefer fell in love with their dancer, Lala; deciding to stay behind in the past to be with her, he bid farewell to the party, although breaking the heart of his father and sister in the process. While he never directly reunited with neither the party or his family ever again, his descendant, Aishe would eventually join the party and live with Estard's royal family, and in 3DS version, the party were able to indirectly assist Kiefer one last time.
  • Maribel- The initially snobbish daughter of Pilchard Bay's mayor, Maribel Mayde constantly pestered both the Hero and Kiefer, correctly suspecting the two of them were doing something in secret and stumbling upon the duo's accidental discovery of the Shrine of Mysteries while stalking them. Tagging along for most of the journey through the past of unseen lands, slowly maturing into a more caring person, Maribel felt forced to leave the party when her mother fell ill, although, once the latter was off the mend, Maribel could be asked to join back with the group in their final battle against Orgodemir,
  • Ruff- A white wolf cub that was transformed into a human kid by magic, the young and impressional Ruff, alongside his adoptive normal wolf mother, decided to follow the group in their journeys, slowly learning how human society worked, while still maintaining some of his animal traits, like a keen sense of smell and a bottomless appetite.
  • Sir Mervyn- The best knight of the Holy Order of the Almighty, during the final battle of The Almighty against Orgodemir, the former decided to seal Mervyn into the Sizzling Stone, as a precaution should he be defeated. Centuries later, the stone fell into the hands of Pollock's deadbeat brother, Pike, who eventually sold the stone to the millionaire Bulgio, who out of curiosity, allowed the party to unseal Sir Mervyn. Now freed in the present day, Mervyn began travelling with the party in order to find out what happened to the world after the battle between the Almighty and the Demon King, and assisting the group in twarting Orgodemir's schemes back in the past, and eventually in the present time.
  • Aishe- Kiefer and Lala's descendant, the independent Aishe, both skilled in dancing and swordfighting, began travelling with the party in order to take a more direct approach in her tribe's goal to revive the Almighty, seeking the long-lost legendary Torban of Truth, a capable player for it, and the Vestment of Virtue. Upon discovering, much to her horror, that her tribe had been fooled into reviving the Demon King instead, Aishe became steadfast in putting an end to the villanous Orgodemir. In the 3DS version, her descendancy was revealed to Kiefer's family members, who then welcomed Aishe to Estard as their kin.

Though the Monster Masher Vocation and a few other ways, the party can tame every single common type of monster and lead them to the Monster Meadows. While, unlike other titles, these beasties cannot be used in battle, in the 3DS version they can be used to create custom Traveller's tablets, allowing the party to explore dungeons for extra goodies.

Though the Druid Vocation, the party can Summon four different spirits, Tatron, Deago, Samshin, and Bazhoul, while with the even more potent spell That Special Summon they can call upon Klashmi, Kamashki, Blamara, and Damniuni.

During their journey across the long-lost lands of the past, the party was sometimes joined by certain people, who briefly accompanied them into battle for their own reasons:

  • Maeve- Maeve supported the party during their first adventure into the Rainbow Mines; however, by that point she had already been corrupted by Orgodemir into a monster, and her support to the group was in order to put a stop to her own rampage against Ballymoral. She eventually was slain, finally peacefully passing into the afterlife.
  • Hanlon- A warrior from Ballymoral he accompanied the party to The Tower in order to retrieve the kidnapped women of the village.
  • The Woodcutter- The Woodcutter was a Dwarf who lived west of Pilchard Bay on Estard Island, and was asked to accompany the party into the past, in order to discover what had happened to L'Arca. After rescuing Ruff, the Woodcutter returned to the present, becoming a father figure for the wolf cub-turned human kid.
  • Fingers-
  • Eustace-
  • Zev-
  • Jacqueline- The true High Priestess of Alltrades Abbey, she was kidnapped and substituted by the cruel Cardinal Sin; after being freed, she joined the party in their final fight against the evil imposter.
  • Florin- The party had previously met Florin during their stay with the Roamers, but they later met him again, unaware of his identity, when they visited Wetlock. Now an old man, Florin used a musical spell to lure the villagers into a tower and locked them up, making it seem like he was up to good, when in reality, he was saving them from a disastrous flood caused by the wicked Gracos. Florin later joined the party in their final confrontation against the underwater tyrant, putting an end to him.
  • Hadid- the son of the chief of Al-Balad Village in the past, he joined the party when they headed to The Likeness to put a stop to the sadistic Setesh the Punisher.
  • Sa'id- The youngest son of the present-time chief of Al-Balad, Sa' id joined the party temporarily during their quest to revive the Earth Spirit.
