Summary[]
The Kingdom of Science discuss when they believe Tsukasa plans to attack next. Both Senku and Gen estimate that their next battle will happen at the end of winter. Tsukasa, strategizing with Hyoga, seems to agree. They decide to post a guard on Taiju and Yuzuriha, just to make sure they're not doing anything suspicious. Both sides acknowledge that communication will be key in the battles ahead.
Senku and Gen assess the quality of the cotton candy, and establish that the candy thread isn't perfectly uniform, and thus their current setup cannot be used to make gold wires. When observing the process, Chrome points out that the problem is cause when they change spin direction, as the spinning slows down momentarily. Everyone gives suggestions until Senku gives them the best answer: using gears.
Kaseki carves out the notches while Senku comments that Kohaku's shield would be perfect. Kokuyo thinks that Kohaku might have a problem with it, as he was the one to give it to her years ago, having gotten it as a prize during the Grand Bout. Kohaku has no such problem which breaks Kokuyo's heart. The improved cotton candy machine is made, and everyone enjoys the cotton candy once more.
The gears give Chrome an idea, which he drags Kaseki in for. The pair of them rush off to complete their idea while the others begin working on the gold wires. A few days later, Chrome says that they're finished, and brings everyone to see their creation: a waterwheel. Senku is super impressed, despite Chrome's disappointment that Senku already knows what it is.
