A Time Freeze is a magical field that effects a normal passage of time on the 2020 Disney+ original film Artemis Fowl.
Background[]
Generated by magic, a time freeze is represented by a magical field that is placed over an area which prevents anything leaving the area surrounded by the field, often used by L.E.P.RECON officers during their assignments. The object that uses the time freeze is represented by a capsule that places the field over an area, often slowing down the passage of time. Any use of a time freeze requires authorization from the executors who work at L.E.P.RECON.
Role in the film[]
The time freeze was first used by a group of L.E.P.RECON officers when a Troll caused rampage during a wedding in Martina Franca. Upon use, various L.E.P.RECON forces neutralized the troll in order to clean up the damage caused by him to make the people think that this incident did not happen, making the guests at the wedding aware of it, followed by the effect being removed.
Later, when Artemis Fowl Jr. captured Holly Short at Fowl Manor while planning to ask her about the Aculos, Commander Root ordered to place a time freeze over Fowl Manor in a plan to rescue Officer Short, telling her fellow officers to put it over the exterior of the home while planning to negotiate with Artemis. However, when Artemis and Domovoi Butler held their own against them, Dom fired an arrow at the capsule which was used to create the time freeze, which resulted in the effect being collapsed, causing it to be destabilized. Noticing this, Foaly managed to keep it from destabilizing, but it suddenly collapsed, forcing the L.E.P.RECON officers to abort their mission, resulting many of them retreating, although some of the officers were caught within the time bend.
