"The Queen Gemma Dilemma" is the second segment of the forty-sixth episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on February 18, 2017 alongside "Once in a Blue Moon", and is the second segment of the sixteenth episode in the second season.
Plot[]
Miles is getting ready for a hike with his fellow Cosmic Explorers just as Stella tells him that Blodger Blopp has arrived to meet with him and Loretta. They are going on a hike to find a rare species of a bird called the Tok-Tok, take holo-pictures of it, and earn the rare Tok-Tok holo-badge. Stella then informs the family that a Dethalian cruiser is arriving, meaning that the last Cosmic Explorer coming on the hike is Prince Rygan. Queen Gemma, who accompanies her son, is intrigued by idea of the Cosmic Explorers making history of taking pictures of the Tok-Tok and earning the holo-badge. Then, Captain Joe calls, saying that due to being called away on an urgent Space Guard mission, he cannot lead the Cosmic Explorers on the hike. Phoebe and Leo cannot take them either because they have to do tune-ups on the Stellosphere's engines. So, Miles gets the idea of Queen Gemma taking them, but she is against it, since she has no interest in the outdoors. When Miles, Loretta, and Blodger tell her that queens can do things that Cosmic Explorers can do, she gives in and decides to lead the troop on the hike.
When they arrive at the jungle, Queen Gemma is disgusted by the mud. Miles tells her that Cosmic Explorers take the less travelled road on hikes like this. She then tells her two Delthalian guards to have lunch ready after the hike and leads the troop through the jungle with their holo-cameras ready. As they hike through the jungle, Queen Gemma reads in her bird guide that Tok-Toks love dancing. When Rygan spots what appears to be a Tok-Tok, the troop run to the spot, only to discover that it is just a plant that looks like a bird. When the troops continue looking for the bird, a shadow flies past them and they run after it. They run towards a bush, but the bird they found turned out to be a Pik-Pok -- the most common bird on Alarbus. When they continue hiking, Queen Gemma calls her guards to cancel lunch and prepare dinner instead. Later, when the queen tells the troop to think like a Tok-Tok, they hear a squawking sound and head for a bunch of trees with strange looking fruits. When the troops activate their spectral eyescreens, they find the Tok-Tok up in one of the trees. The bird chases after Blodger, who picked one of the fruits. When they attempt to take pictures, the bird is too fast for them. Queen Gemma tells the troops to take cover. Rygan and Blodger take cover behind a bush and M.E.R.C. uses his bubble shield to protect him, Miles, Loretta, and the Queen. Loretta then tells them that the fruits are called Yim-Yums, which Tok-Toks love to eat. It was upset because it thinks they are stealing them from it.
Queen Gemma tells M.E.R.C. to lead the troops away from the area while she distracts the bird. She uses a dance called the Dethalian Jitter-doodle, which the bird joins in. Miles is surprised that the queen can dance, and so is Rygan. When the dancing battle is won by Queen Gemma, she meets the troops by a cliff, who are impressed by her dancing. When Blodger does a dance of his own, the cliff starts to crumble, sending them down. M.E.R.C. uses his bubble shield to protect them as they slide. Loretta then reads on her Bracelex that they are in Hail Valley, a place known for having freak hail storms. When it starts to hail, M.E.R.C activates his shields to protect them and the strong wind lifts them up back to where they started from.
When they reach the landing site, the troop check their holo-cameras, but the pictures are too blurry. Then, a squawking sound is heard and the Tok-Tok arrives, but Miles reminds the troops of what happened the last time. Queen Gemma then starts to dance and the bird dances along, giving the troops time to take the holo-pictures. Queen Gemma rewards the kids with the Rare Tok-Tok Holo-badge. Miles then thanks her for being a "blastastic" leader even though she does not like the outdoors, and she tells him that it is good to try new things and they all dance together with the Tok-Tok flying overhead.
