"Spaceship Invader" is the second segment of the tenth episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on April 3, 2015 alongside "On Spaceguard".

Plot[]

In the workshop, Miles shows Leo some rocks he found, including one from Mercury and the other being dolomite. Leo does not have any of those in his collection, and Miles promises to help him look the next time they visit a planet. M.E.R.C. gives Miles a Booster Bite, and Miles tells him that he can't put that in his collection, so M.E.R.C. eats it. Stella then informs everyone of an emergency, and tells them to report to the bridge immediately.

There, the Callistos see the emergency: an exhaust cloud from a Fastidian ship, which is very hot. Leo says that if they get too close, the cloud could melt the Stellosphere. Phoebe tells Leo to take the ship around the cloud. Leo does so, but a cloud that is moving faster than he thought damages one of the ship's engines. Leo decides to land the ship to make repairs. Loretta finds through her Bracelex that the nearest planet is Kepler planet 63973-B. The planet gets that name because the Tomorrowland Transit Authority has not mapped or explored it yet, so they gave it a number instead of a name, for now. The Callistos then land on the planet.

Phoebe then tells Miles, Loretta, and M.E.R.C. to stay close while she and Leo fix the Stellosphere. Loretta plans to collect all the data she can about the planet so that they can name it after her, but not "Planet Miles' Sister". While Miles and M.E.R.C. are hopping on rocks in a river, Miles finds a lifeform that he mistakes for a weird-looking rock, and decides to place it in his collection. Phoebe then calls Miles, stating that the repair is finished. Miles then takes Loretta with him to the ship. In the Main Power Access room, Leo confirms with Stella that everything looks good, and informs Phoebe that they are ready to leave.

Miles then places the "rock" he found in a spot he saved for a very special rock. Just as Miles and M.E.R.C. leave, the rock moves, and it captures the attention of M.E.R.C. After he plays with the rock, the rock increases in size, and M.E.R.C. knocks some water from a fish tank, causing it to land on the rock, who shrinks as a result. Miles arrives and tells M.E.R.C. if he was playing with his new rock, and the two head to the bridge just as the rock hops off again and goes through a vent.

In her room, Loretta is practicing her dance skills when the lights go off, and she is unable to turn them on. Loretta wonders what is causing all this when one of the rock's tentacles appears through the vent, causing her to run to Miles and inform him of the situation. The two, along with M.E.R.C., hide in Miles' room, where Miles wonders what happened to his rock. Loretta suggests that they tell Mom and Dad about the situation when the doors lock. M.E.R.C. is able to open it, and the three head to the bridge. At that time, Leo is busy in the workshop when a machine malfunctions, grabbing a banana when Leo asks for a holo-saw. The machine then squishes the banana on Leo.

On the bridge, Miles tells Phoebe that something is wrong with the Stellosphere and Phoebe knows this because she is unable to connect with the Admirals. Just as Loretta finds out the ship is haunted, the ship changes direction without a command. This is because several key systems have been taken out of Stella's control. Stella then goes offline, and Leo decides for the Callistos to reboot the ship from the Main Power Access room. The family agrees to stay together with the ship behaving the way it is.

After Leo opens the door, the Callistos are shocked to see a large, green creature whose legs are connected to every system on the ship. Miles wonders if it has always been there, and Loretta wonders how it got on the ship. The Callistos try to disconnect the legs, which then kick the Callistos out of the room and lock the door. Loretta's Bracelex has no idea what that creature is. M.E.R.C. shows that the creature is actually Miles' rock that he collected a short time ago, and that it is alive. Phoebe then sees that they are passing by the same stars they went through a few hours ago, and that the Stellosphere is heading back towards Kepler Planet 63973-B. Miles assumes that the creature is trying to go home. There is one problem with that: the course the ship is taking towards that planet is one that goes through the exhaust cloud. M.E.R.C. demonstrates swimming, which gives Miles an idea: when he found the fuzzball, it looked like a rock sitting in water, and that it will shrink into a rock if it gets wet. Since the engine room doors are closed, Leo finds another way there: the emergency hatch outside next to the bio-garden, and the water supply.

With the Stellosphere quickly approaching the exhaust cloud, Phoebe opens the Main Power Access room doors. Miles then takes the hose into the room, and Leo turns it on, causing the water to fall onto the fuzzball and the creature to shrink to its normal size. As a result, Stella is back online, and is ordered by Phoebe to go to Kepler Planet 63973-B, while going around the cloud. There, Miles apologizes to the rock for not knowing that he was alive. If Miles did know, he never would have taken him from his home. Miles then places the rock back in the water, where it reunites with its parents. The Stellosphere then leaves the planet.
