Background[]
Principal Arroyo serves as the school principal in the middle school Joe works at. She is shown to give a complement to Joe who was promoted in having a full-time job at the middle school where he works at. Not much of her personality is known other than working as a school principal.
Role in the film[]
Principal Arroyo is seen knocking the door on Joe Gardner's music class, where she interrupts the class for a while. Arroyo then tells Joe that she wanted to deliver the good news personally, telling him that he is now a full-time band teacher, welcoming Joe into having a full-time job as a middle school teacher to which Joe feels excited that he now has a full-time job just as Arroyo walks away before Joe leaves the school to meet his mother in her tailoring shop. She makes no further appearances after that.

- The female doctor who takes care of Joe who finds himself lying unconsciously in the hospital has a striking resemblance to Principal Arroyo. It is likely that she uses the same body model as her.
- Principal Arroyo is Jeannie Tirado's first voice-acting role in a Disney/Pixar work. Tirado herself is known for doing voice works in English dubs of anime productions.
