Pixar Canada, also known as the Glenn McQueen Pixar Animation Center or Pixar Animation Studios Canada was a wholly owned subsidiary of Pixar Animation Studios. It was located in Vancouver, British Columbia. The studio was tasked with producing short films based on the Pixar characters.

History[]

Pixar Canada was founded on April 20, 2010 and was located in Vancouver, British Columbia. It was named the Glenn McQueen Pixar Animation Center, after Pixar employee Glenn McQueen, who was born in Canada, and died in 2002.

In October of 2013, Disney permanently closed Pixar Canada and laid off its approximately 100 employees, in order to refocus Pixar's efforts at its main headquarters in Emeryville, California.

After The Walt Disney Company acquired Lucasfilm and all of the companies under it, Pixar Canada's studio space was renovated to become Industrial Light & Magic Vancouver studio.
