"Battlesaurs Theme" refers to the theme song for the fictional Battlesaurs toy line featured in the 2014 Disney•Pixar animated special, Toy Story That Time Forgot.
Background[]
The song was originally going to played during the opening of the special where the theme song would play at the beginning of the short which would later pan to Trixie watching the Battlesaurs cartoon, but for the final version, the Battlesaurs did not appear until the scene where Woody, Buzz, Rex, and Trixie arrive at Mason's house where they encounter the Battlesaurs.[1]
In the final version of the short, it is played where Reptillus Maximus tells Trixie that doing battle is their duties to which when Reptillus begins the song, more Battlesaurs join in singing with their champion. An instrumental version of the song is heard during the epilogue in a music box tune where Reptillus bids a farewell to Trixie who returned with Bonnie and the rest of her toys. This is confirmed by the audio commentary on the DVD/Blu-ray releases of Toy Story That Time Forgot. [2]
In the 2015 Blu-ray and Digital releases of Toy Story That Time Forgot, the song is later included in a fake opening for the Battlesaurs "animated series" which was included as a bonus feature where the "opening" itself is animated using traditional animation style, provided by Studio Trigger, a Japanese animation studio. In the "intro", a large energy beam is blasted by the Triassic Tower which hits three of the Cleric's acolytes followed by the Cleric who unleashes a powerful beam which strikes a normal dinosaur transforming it into a humanoid dinosaur which loops into Ray-Gon giving the Battlesaur some combat armor representing himself as Reptillus himself who fights with a large group of Battlesaurs who ready themselves to fight against the antagonists of the "show" in which the scene loops to the Goliathon emerging from the ground and later with Reptillus standing on the Battlesaurs title. The short then ends with Reptillus raising his mace, followed by two volcanoes erupting just before the short fades to black.
Lyrics[]
From a kingdom long ago
An enigma wrapped in mystery
We battled every foe
Since before the dawn of history
United, we are one
Battling all of those who stand opposed
Nobody knows why we have thumbs
Or wear these battle-y clothes (Battle-y clothes)
Battlesaurs!
Battlesaurs!
Battlesaurs!
(Reptillus grunts)
Reptillus: From a kingdom long ago
An enigma wrapped in mystery
(with other Battlesaurs joining in) We've battled every foe
Since before the dawn of history (History)
Battlesaurs!
Battlesaurs!
Battlesaurs!
Ray-Gon: Yeah!
