Timothy Hunter is an ordinary English school boy who is destined to become the greatest magician in all of history. He learns magic through the mystical Books of Magic.
History
Powers and Abilities
Powers
- Magic: At the current time Tim has a fairly limited grasp on magic, even if he is supposed to become the greatest magician of all time.[1]
- Dimensional Travel: Using his magic Tim can create rifts in reality which allow him to pass through different dimensions, such as when he opened a doorway between Earth 0 and the Dreaming. However he has to channel this power through an object due to his inexperience, he currently uses a makeshift key to activate these rifts.[2]
- Energy Construct Creation: When attempting to fall asleep, Tim created create constructs of sheep.[3]
- Electro-Blast: Tim is able to project powerful bursts of lightning, strong enough to kill two dozen people with a single blast. However he has to channel this power through an object due to his inexperience, he currently uses a screwdriver as a make-shift wand.[4]
- Magical Awareness: Timothy was able to read one of the Books of Magic. To an ordinary person the book was blank with no writing, however using his magical vision Tim was able to read the contents.[1]
- Transmutation: Tim was able to transform a yo-yo into a sentient owl that would guard him from nightmares during his sleep.[3]
- Telekinesis: Tim is able to levitate objects with his mind, so far he has only shown himself capable of lifting a few small objects. However he has to channel this power through an object due to his inexperience, he currently uses a screwdriver as a make-shift wand.[4]

- Tim Hunter was created by Neil Gaiman and John Bolton, first appearing in The Books of Magic #1. However, in the Prime Earth continuity, Tim Hunter first appeared as part of the New 52 DC Universe in Justice League Dark #11 by Jeff Lemire and Mikel JanÃn.
- Before Reborn, Tim had brown eyes and brown hair.[5] However once Superman merged the old and new timelines together this version of Tim gained the green eyes and black hair of his New Earth counterpart.[1]
