Larry Samson (Earth-Two)

Mister Big was an enemy of Green Lantern (Alan Scott).

History

Larry Samson was the black sheep of the upright Samson family, committing crimes using the alias Lefty Simmons. After being released from prison, he opened an employment agency, but this was actually a front where he would help criminals find illegal work. The best of them were hired to carry out intricate crimes concocted by a criminal genius named "Mr. Big", who in reality was Simmons himself. For caution's sake, he operated at a remove by pretending to merely be Mr. Big's recruiter.

Green Lantern noticed a commonality between Mr. Big's crimes: they were against holdings owned by the Samson family. This was because Lefty was trying to get revenge against his family by destroying their prosperity. While investigating the Simmons employment agency, Green Lantern was captured by Lefty and put in a shooting gallery deathtrap along with Doiby Dickles. Suddenly Mr. Big entered the room, demanding Green Lantern be left alive, while Lefty Simmons ordered his henchmen not to obey. This distraction gave Green Lantern a chance to break free and capture the criminals. It was revealed that the imposter Mr. Big was actually Lefty's sister June, head of the family company he'd been trying to ruin.

Notes

• This version of Mister Big, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
