Synopsis for Capt. Marvel, Jr.: "Capt. Marvel, Jr. and The Irresistible Sword"

Don Halibo is a world-renowned adventurer who soon discovers the Great Sword of Dali and kills the man guarding it, then blasts open the plinth the sword was inserted in. The Temple of Dali is upset and decide to go get their sword back so they can have a fabled leader lead to conquest. Days later, they track down Halibo to the docks. When they try to attack him, he unsheathes the Great Sword and accidentally cuts through a steel pillar, dismantling the pier above them as he realizes that this sword can cut through anything and leaves for America…

A few days later, Freddy wakes up in bed to hear Officer Jim Bellows blowing a whistle near the Citizen’s Bank, so he calls CAPTAIN MARVEL to investigate as Captain Marvel, Jr. Jim is highly confused, since someone’s somehow just cut their way through a brick wall into the vault in no less than ten minutes! Mr. Evans, the bank’s manager starts to blame Officer Jim for the entire thing… until they find nothing is gone! Junior counts it completely in a few minutes and they discover a box of rare coins for the reign of Emperor Augustus being held in trust was taken and Don Halibo laughs in his trophy room that he’s got another exotic treasure all to himself. He finds in the Daily Gazette that the three Sword Guardians are in America looking for him and decides he’ll have to proactively kill them first and tries derailing a city train on an elevated pillar in hopes that they’re on it. Freddy hears it and calls CAPTAIN MARVEL to become Captain Marvel, Jr. and helps right the cars so they pass over the busted part of the track and then shoves the pillar hard enough to weld it back into place. Junior soon catches Halibo with the sword and he decides to use it on him… finding it does nothing to the World’s Mightiest Boy and his Stamina of Atlas. Junior realizes that it’s a highly powerful sword that it didn’t shatter against him, but Halibo manages to distract him by cutting through a Doric column holding up a tall equestrian statue. Junior pushes it back into place, but finds the madman gone. Later, Junior finds in a large book in the newspaper offices who Don Halibo is and heads to his castle as Freddy Freeman. Freddy soon is invited into his Trophy Room and immediately sees the stolen gold coins, only for Halibo to smash a blue vase against his head. Freddy wakes up shackled to the wall and gagged under a makeshift Sword of Damocles-style trap with a candle near the line holding it up. As Halibo leaves, Freddy manages to wriggle one shoe loose and flings it off his foot at the candle and then manages to slip his gag and call CAPTAIN MARVEL! Junior punches through the door and breaks the Great Sword of Dali and takes Halibo to prison for stealing priceless treasures. The Sword Guardians decide that since the sword is gone, they can’t be led to conquest in bloody battle… so they’re going back to their peaceful life and enjoy not having the pressure of being on-call.

John Langwell tries to call someone and finds he’s been connected to Lexner 6-1778 in the Fifth Dimension! When Langwell starts to panic about it, an electric imp named Impulso appears out of his receiver and says everyone in the fifth dimension looks this way and that this is first contact with them considering the protective barrier around their dimension. Langwell goes to tell his colleague Davidson about it and calls up Impulso again and Davidson decides to kill Langwell and steal his invention with some goons who work at the local madhouse, claiming that he’s insane and dangerous because he says he can “talk to the fifth dimension.” Without confirming any part of this, they start trying to wrestle him into a straitjacket. Hearing the racket outside, Freddy calls CAPTAIN MARVEL to become Captain Marvel, Jr. Junior hears them both out and decides to not actually give Langwell a chance, but believes he’s just crazy. However, when he starts moving things back into place, he finds that the phone is off the hook, but still connected to Impulso from the Fifth Dimension! Junior even then doubts Impulso’s existence, btu finds that he can’t easily touch the creature, so he uses a metal key attached to a kite to catch him like Benjamin Franklin. Impulso agrees to not get involved until Junior says so. Outside, Davidson cuts the phone line and steals the Fifth Dimensional Phone, so they can’t save Langwell from being committed. Junior says he can assure the judges that the phone works, but Davidson just interjects in court and says that’s impossible. Although they’re able to get Impulso to call the Judge directly at the bench and confirms there’s a fifth dimension, but he refuses to accept this kind of proof and dismisses the case, saying there’s no proof Langwell is crazy since he think it’s now reasonable that there might be a fifth dimension. Langwell tells Junior he still doesn’t have his phone back so Junior just follows Davidson to his house where he tries to smash it with a sledgehammer and punches him in the head, knocking him over and arresting him. Impulso says he’s just not picking up any more calls from the third dimension and hangs up. However, Freddy soon finds that his Super Telephonic Phone can still make long distance calls without the need for relays, but can’t reach the Fifth Dimension anymore...

Synopsis for Capt. Marvel, Jr.: "Capt. Marvel, Jr. and The Two Roads!"

A girl runs into the street and a virtuous young boy, Bobby Deal, dashes out to push her out of the way, only for a nearby Freddy Freeman to call CAPTAIN MARVEL to become Captain Marvel, Jr. and blows the incoming truck out of the way. His guardian snatches him up and chastises him angrily for ruining his plans for him with foolish heroism. Junior recognizes the man as Harry Sloan, famed millionaire industrialist that nobody likes. Junior decides to tell him that he did good by saving someone’s life as Harry says that saving people isn’t important, just making money. Suddenly, Sloan is attacked by Everett, a disgruntled rival with a gun in his hand who wants to rid the world of him. Junior manages to disarm Everett who shouts that Sloan stole his life savings and he’s going to kill him, but Junior says he’s still arresting him. Sloan tries to pay Junior for his good job, but Junior notes that he doesn’t take money to do that and he doesn’t understand his feelings. Sloan assumes that Junior is just well-paid already, which is why he wouldn’t take his money. Later, Harry tells a sailing colleague that Bobby is an orphan he adopted or is a guardian for and that he’s been training him to run his business. The skipper tells him that the ship Sloan owns needs to be repaired, but Sloan makes it clear he doesn’t care and wants to make money shipping cargo anyways. He almost pretends to ask Bobby’s opinion before decides that they’re going to ignore the risk and also that they’ll just do the whole voyage themselves. They soon are overtaken by a storm and their radioman, Sparks, finds that there’s no one responding to their SOS. The skipper tells Sloan that him not wanting to be dead is meaningless compared to the storm and none of his money will save him.

Meanwhile, Freddy Freeman meets his ham radio technician friend, Don, and finds he’s racing to go get a phone to report something and runs over to find the SOS and calls CAPTAIN MARVEL to become Junior again and find the ship. Using planking from the decks, Junior is able to physically punch the wood back together into a strong lifeboat and lets the men escape. However, Bobby is still aboard looking for Mr. Sloan below deck. The crew take off and Junior uses the pumps as fast as he can to try to get the water out. Sloan is busy trying to find which crates he can take with them on the lifeboats, insulted that the crew left him without him. Bobby tries to stop Sloan from being hit by a falling crate and is knocked unconscious. Sloan think he’s dead and is overcome with regret and grief as Junior says he fixed the ship and they aren’t sinking anymore, but flies them to the crew anyways and then flies Bobby to the City Hospital where he recovers and they two finally accept each other as father and son. Sloan offers they finally take a vacation and Freddy is happy to see Bobby helped his new father and that money and power alone couldn’t save the day and true happiness comes from within.
