Synopsis for "House of Brainiac, Part 3"

Superman and Lobo manage to hold their own against Bad Blood, but Superman realises that the Czarnians are just trying to slow them down and let Brainiac get away. He tells Brainiac they need to break off and continue the chase, and Lobo reluctantly agrees.

On the Skull Ship, Superboy and Supergirl have escaped the bottles they were held in, but they are still shrunken down and their powers, including Superboy's tactile telekinesis, are not working. As freeing the others would not help, they instead go to the lab where Livewire and Parasite are being held, as they are full-sized. They free the semi-reformed villains and Supergirl guides them to the armoury, where Livewire uses one of Bad Blood's guns to restore Superboy and Supergirl to full size. As all their powers still are not working, they arm themselves with Brainiac's weapons and attack the alternate Brainiacs.

Supergirl tells Conner to go and free the others while she takes the fight to Brainiac Prime. However, she is captured and bound by Brainiac. He takes her down to a lab where Luthor is working on a bottled city. Supergirl accuses Luthor of working for Brainiac all along, but he says he works for no-one and she can't understand what is going on. Luthor restores the bottled city to normal, the full-size city mounted on top of the Skull Ship inside a force field dome. Brainiac takes them above in a floating platform and, to her shock, Supergirl sees that the city and its people are Coluan. She breaks free, grabs Luthor and jumps off the platform to the city below. Brainiac orders his alters to find and capture Supergirl, but kill Luthor on sight.

Superman and Lobo lose Brainiac's trail, so Lobo takes Superman to Hardcore Station to question Space Cabbie about his whereabouts. Space Cabbie tells them that he has no idea where Brainiac is, and reveals that Bad Blood has been attacking any planet where the people have powers. Chacal and Bad Blood suddenly appear, having followed them to the station. Superman and Lobo square off to fight, but Chacal instead offers Lobo a deal. He tells his descendant that he goes back and forth between being a badass and a joke, and that he needs guidance to reach his full potential. Lobo refuses to follow Chacal, but Chacal replies that he doesn't want Lobo to work for him. He's been the "top dog" for too long and gotten old, but none of his men are capable of stepping up to take his place. He asks Lobo to become the new leader of Bad Blood and Lobo enthusiastically agrees. Chacal tells Lobo he needs to show them he means business by taking out Superman.

Synopsis for "Brainiac and Son"

Brainiac's son Vril Dox II has been hiding out from his father on the crime-ridden world of Rimbor. Bad Blood track him down and, although he is able to kill some of them, kidnap him and take him back to the Skull Ship. Vril asks Brainiac what he is doing, but Brainiac collapses and vomits in front of him. Brainiac tells Vril that he has found a hole in his knowledge and believes it is killing him. Vril replies that, despite his intelligence, Brainiac's rejection of emotion means he has no ability to ever really understand what makes life worth living. Brainiac grabs him by the throat and Vril goads his father to kill him, but Brainiac release him and hands him over to some of his alternates. They take him to the re-enlarged city and push him into a building where he has imprisoned his other family members, including Vril's mother Lysl.
