The Stealth Tank is a Nod stealth missile tank in Tiberian Sun and Firestorm.
Background[]
A successor to the first generation of the Stealth Tank, the TWII Stealth Tank is a light battle tank that is able to cloak itself in order to remain undetected by enemies. The tank is unable to remain cloaked while firing its missiles due to the enormous power drain of the stealth generator. Only infantry and base defenses can reveal the stealth tank. However, GDI's Mobile Sensor Array can detect a stealth tank's presence[1].
Legacy[]
After Nod's defeat in the Second Tiberium War, the archives of the Brotherhood and their exotic technologies were mostly lost, including the second generation of Stealth Tanks. However, there was a single remaining technology cache containing projects for stealth technology remaining after the war, in Australia, guarded by the Steel Talons. GDI had no interest nor capability to start decoding and reverse-engineering the cache's contents, and thus it was merely stored away.
After Kane's reawakening in 2034, his AI, LEGION, travelled to Australia, raided the Australian compound and extracted the information. This gave the resurgent Brotherhood their stealth capabilities back - resulting in the third generation of the Stealth Tank being developed.
Game unit[]
The stealth tank is the most advanced and expensive land combat vehicle available to the Brotherhood of Nod in Tiberian Sun.
The stealth tank is very lightly armored and has just over half the hit points of Nod's main battle tank, the Tick tank, making it very vulnerable against all but the lightest of weapons. However, it is equipped with a cloaking device that renders it undetectable to most units and structures, except the GDI mobile sensor array and infantry if it approaches too closely to or crushes them.
The stealth tank is armed with twin Dragon TOW homing missiles that are highly effective against vehicles and aircraft. It is one of the few Nod land units capable of engaging aircraft (the others being the Rocket Infantry and the Attack Cycle (only when promoted to Elite status)).
The good firepower, stealth capabilities, and fragility of the stealth tank result in a vehicle that is well-optimized for hit-and-run attacks (especially on Harvesters) and ambushes. Slugging matches against GDI armour like the Titan will usually result in heavy losses, and should be avoided at all costs, considering the high cost of producing stealth tanks.
AI behavior[]
Stealth Tanks controlled by the AI have the following attack patterns:

- 1x targeting Construction Yards, production structures, power plants, Tiberium Refineries, Upgrade Center or Missile Silo
- This task force may be accompanied by 1 Rocket Infantry
- This task force will only be ordered to attack power plants if enemy base is close to low power mode
- This task force will only be ordered to attack Tiberium Refineries if the enemy owns 4 or more of these
- 1x targeting vehicles
- This task force may be accompanied by 1 Cyborg
- 1x targeting harvesters
- This task force may be accompanied by 1 additional Stealth Tank
- This task force will only be constructed if the enemy owns 4 or more Harvesters
- 1x guarding friendly base
- This task force may be accompanied by 1 additional Stealth Tank
- 1x guarding friendly base
- This task force may be accompanied by 1 Rocket Infantry
- This task force will only be constructed if the enemy owns 4 or more Orca Bombers/Banshees, or 5 or more Orca Fighters/Harpies/Jumpjet Infantry
Medium/Hard[]
- 4x targeting Construction Yards, production structures, power plants, Tiberium Refineries, Upgrade Center or Missile Silo
- This task force may be accompanied by 4 Rocket Infantry
- This task force will only be ordered to attack power plants if enemy base is close to low power mode
- This task force will only be ordered to attack Tiberium Refineries if the enemy owns a certain number of these (3 in Medium, 2 in Hard)
- 4x targeting vehicles
- This task force may be accompanied by 4 additional Stealth Tanks (Hard only) or 4 Cyborgs
- 4x targeting harvesters
- This task force may be accompanied by 4 additional Stealth Tanks (Hard only)
