"Words of the Witches"

Words of the Witches is a podcast channel that discusses the lesser-known published material of the Charmed series, such as the novels and comics.

It was founded by Kevin J. Gadzalinski in 2021. Shawn Porrett joined the podcast in season 2.

Focus[]

The first season focused on the non-canon novels, while the second season focused on the comic books, both canonical and non-canonical. The third season focused on the Charmed-related guidebooks.

This podcast also occasionally produces bonus episodes where they discuss certain elements of the series, such as the props, the workings of the comics, the moral compass, and even certain celebrities' experiences with it.

In nearly every episode, the host would be joined by a guest who was either a fan of the show or involved with the franchise in some way. It has become so popular that actors and actresses (such as Brian Krause, Holly Marie Combs, Victor Webster, etc.) have virtually shown their support for it.

Aside from this podcast, Kevin and Shawn also have a second podcast called "Hanging with the Halliwells."

The first season focuses on the non-canonical novels' storylines, their inconsistencies, and what related them to the show.

Season 2[]

The second season focuses on the storylines of canonical comic books and e-books and their inconsistencies.

Season 3[]

The third season focuses on the information from Charmed-related companion books. Each episode focuses on discussing a specific section of one book.

Bonus Episodes[]

Bonus episodes are joined by special guests, such as Michael Bailey Smith or Michael Maize, who share their experiences with the show.

Notes and Trivia[]

  • The podcast's title is derived from the first line of the spell Dominus Trinus.
  • In the summer of 2022, Kevin invited Jennifer Rhodes to his podcast.[20] On March 3, 2024, Jennifer confessed that she decided not to come on his podcast because modern technology was hard for her to understand.[21]
  • In the 74th episode of the podcast's second season, they read the first chapter of the unreleased e-book, Social Medium. In the 75th episode, Pat Shand revealed he had plans to publish the fourth novel, Symphony for the Devil, but it was never released too.
  • Shannen Doherty, who played Prue Halliwell, passed away from breast cancer on July 13, 2024. In connection to her death, Kevin, along with many actors, expressed their condolences.[22][23][24][25] The twentieth bonus episode named "Tribute to SHANNEN DOHERTY" is dedicated to her.
  • The full script of "Charmed the Musical: A Witch Your Heart Makes" was released on e-book platform and made purchasable on August 5, 2024. It was later published in print on September 1, 2024.[26]
