Summary[]
Meeting outside a building adorned with Chainsaw Man’s head, Sugo explains that the building used to belong to a cult. Denji asks where he’d be able to find the girls he can sleep with, only for Sugo to explain that he’s going to take him on tour first. The two of them meet with the previously unnamed student from the aquarium incident, Nobana Higashiyama, Denji notes how the cult consists of mostly students to which Nobana explains that there’s barely any adults working for them due to a “ultraviolet weapon from the Americans in the air.” In disbelief, Denji asks if he’s serious, only for him to say that Chainsaw Man has super vision which allowed him to learn the truth of the weapon.
Denji then turns his attention to a different room, which Nobana notes is the Chainsaw Man Wedding Chapel. He then says that the next room over is where Denji would fornicate with a woman before marrying her at the chapel. Protesting, he says he doesn’t want to marry anyone, causing Nobana to break slightly and try to justify the teen marriage policy by saying that marriage as adults is again due to American propaganda. This causes Denji to snap, yelling at Sugo that he has never encountered any of America's "ultraviolet rays" and that the chapel isn’t what he was promised either. Sugo admits that he wasn’t being entirely truthful, but it’s ok since the Church does a bunch of good in the world as well. Denji asks if that justifies the child marriages, causing Sugo to snap back, saying that Denji joined without a second thought, and that it’s ok if some people get screwed over if what they’re doing is for the greater good.
Nobana tries to break up the fight by continuing with the tour, only to be dismissed by the Flamethrower Hybrid, Barem. He puts his hand to greet Denji, only to prank him by sticking his fingers up his nose. Barem rhetorically asks himself why Chainsaw Man hasn’t been fighting devils recently, before asking Denji what it would take for him to return. He suggests that a massive devil attack might cause Chainsaw Man to return, only for Denji to repeat what Yoshida told him and that there’ll be other devil hunters there to stop future devil attacks, including Asa. Barem teases him about knowing Asa, but as soon as he notices Denji’s silence, he asks him if Asa’s death would bring him back into action. Before Denji can protest, Barem asks Denji to imagine a scale, with his ordinary life and those around him - even bringing up details he shouldn’t know like his pets - on one side, and the thing that turns him into Chainsaw Man on the other, before asking him what he values more. Stunned, Denji tears himself away from the flamethrower hybrid and runs away, with Barem yelling for him to enjoy his ordinary life “while he can.”
