Maren (Japanese: ミチコ Michiko) is a minor supporting character who appeared in The Power of One.

In the movies

Maren gave Ash, Misty, Tracey, and their Pokémon a ride around the Orange Islands. However, a storm blew them off-course, and they were forced to land at Shamouti Island.

While on the island, Maren was surprised to see her old friend Carol. She decided to stay, catch up with Carol, and enjoy the Legend Festival banquet. After Ash was selected to fulfill the "Chosen One" quest, Maren volunteered to help Ash on his island-hopping journey to find the three Island Treasures. However, her boat crashed due to the severity of an abrupt storm and sustained serious damage on their first stop, Lightning Island. Thus, Maren spent the remainder of the movie watching over her boat.

She was last seen in the ending credits, leaving Shamouti Island with Ash and his friends and waving Carol and the other residents goodbye.

Maren briefly reappeared in a montage in The Rise of Darkrai, which chronicled the preceding nine movies.
