Eon duo[1] is a term for the Legendary duo that consists of the Eon Pokémon Latias and Latios. They are also referred to as Lati@s (as the symbol "@" looks like an "a" inside an "o") or the Lati twins.

The two Eon Pokémon share the same types, Dragon and Psychic; category, "Eon Pokémon"; and Ability, Levitate.

Latias, the female Eon Pokémon, can be found without a special event item in Pokémon Sapphire, Emerald (depending on the player's choice), HeartGold, White 2, Alpha Sapphire, and Ultra Moon.

Latias's stats lean towards Defense, and it can augment its high Special Defense with its signature move, Mist Ball, which weakens the foe's Special Attack 50% of the time.

Latios, the male Eon Pokémon, can be found without a special event item in Pokémon Ruby, Emerald (depending on the player's choice), SoulSilver, Black 2, Omega Ruby, and Ultra Sun.

Latios has higher offensive stats, and can augment its high Special Attack with its signature move, Luster Purge, which has a 50% chance of lowering the target's Special Defense.

Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire

LatiosR/LatiasS will start roaming the Hoenn region after the player enters the Hall of Fame. The other Eon Pokémon can be found on Southern Island, if the player has the Eon Ticket required to unlock it.

Pokémon Emerald

Latias and Latios will start roaming the Hoenn region after the player enters the Hall of Fame. The player chooses which Eon Pokémon to appear based on their answer to their mom's question, with "Red" resulting in Latias appearing, and "Blue" resulting in Latios appearing. Like the previous two games, the other Eon Pokémon can be found on Southern Island, if the player has the Eon Ticket required to unlock it.

Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver

Latias and Latios can be obtained in the Kanto region after unlocking it. After talking to Steven in Vermilion City, LatiasHG/LatiosSS will start roaming Kanto. The player can also encounter LatiosHG/LatiasSS in Pewter City after obtaining the Enigma Stone.

Pokémon Black 2 and White 2

LatiosB2/LatiasW2 appear in the Dreamyard after the player enters the Hall of Fame for the first time.

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire

LatiasAS/LatiosOR are obtained on Southern Island after beating a member of Team AquaAS/Team MagmaOR. The other Eon Pokémon can also be encountered on Southern Island as well after the player obtains the Eon Ticket and talks to Norman.

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon

Latias and Latios may be found in the Ultra Space Wilds by following a blue Ultra Wormhole to the Cave World during the Ultra Warp Ride minigame.

Pokémon Sword and Shield

In The Crown Tundra, Latias and Latios be found at Max Lair during Dynamax Adventures. Latios can be found in Sword, while Latias can be found in Shield; however, the player can get the other Legendary by participating in other players' Dynamax Adventures.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Latias and Latios can be encountered by inserting the Soul Slate in the Soul Room at Ramanas Park after capturing the legendary giants. Two separate Soul Slates are needed to encounter both members.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

In The Indigo Disk, Latias and Latios can be obtained via snacks from Snacksworth. Latias can be encountered in South Province (Area Four) after obtaining the Latias Treat, and Latios can be encountered in North Province (Area Two) after obtaining the Latios Treat. In Pokémon Violet, the player obtains the Latias Treat by completing 10 solo quests and the Latios Treat by completing 1 group quest. In Pokémon Scarlet, the player obtains the Latios Treat by completing 10 solo quests and the Latias Treat by completing 1 group quest.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series

In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team, as well as their remake, Rescue Team DX, Latios and Latias are part of a post-game side quest. Latios is first seen flying past the player's Team Base, having stolen TMs from the Kecleon Shop. The player's team follows Latios to Northern Range and defeats him. He reveals that had stolen the TMs to help save Latias from Pitfall Valley. The player and partner rescue Latias from Pitfall Valley with the Teleport Gem, reuniting her and Latios. Out of gratitude, the two of them agree to join the player's team.

In Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon, Latios and Latias are seen fleeing from something as the player comes to visit the Air Continent for the first time. However, before they can reach their destination, they get turned to stone and crash-land into Mystical Forest, where the player and partner find their petrified bodies. During the post-game, they express their gratitude at having been brought back from being turned to stone and connect with the player's team.

Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs

In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, Latias or Latios can be called with a Ranger Sign once the player progresses far enough as either Ben or Summer.

Pokkén Tournament

In Pokkén Tournament, Latios appears as a Support Pokémon in all versions of the game alongside Yveltal.

Pokémon Heroes: Latios & Latias

Latias and Latios debuted in Pokémon Heroes: Latios & Latias, where they serve as the guardians of Alto Mare and protectors of the Soul Dew. Latias also displayed the ability to shape-shift into humans such as Alto Mare resident Bianca. They were targeted by thieves Annie and Oakley, who desired possession of the Soul Dew. Latios was eventually captured by them, forcing Latias to enlist the assistance of Ash, who she seemed to have become very fond of in a short amount of time. Though they were able to rescue Latios and thwart Annie and Oakley's plans, the villainous pair's actions still endangered all of Alto Mare, forcing Latios to sacrifice himself and turn into the new Soul Dew.

Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl

Latias and Latios have been shown to be owned by Pokémon Trainers in Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl, despite them being Legendary Pokémon.

A Latios owned by Tobias was used in The Semi-Final Frontier!, during the semifinals of the Lily of the Valley Conference. He was used in his battle against Ash, where he defeated Sceptile and Swellow. He was then was defeated by Pikachu, who was knocked out at the same time.

In addition, a Latias appeared in DPS02, under the ownership of a Nurse Joy from the Pokémon Inspection Agency. She was used against Forrest's Rhyperior in a battle to test Forrest's capabilities as the potential Leader of the Pewter Gym, and won.

Hoopa and the Clash of Ages

A Latias and Latios capable of Mega Evolving both appeared in Hoopa and the Clash of Ages, being summoned alongside a Shiny Rayquaza by Hoopa to protect it from the shadow Hoopa Unbound. The trio protected Hoopa from the shadow Hoopa and its reinforcements, Primal Groudon, Primal Kyogre, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, and Kyurem, in Dahara City. Eventually, the battle ended after the shadow Hoopa was sealed in a Prison Bottle, and Latias and Latios departed for their home.

Pokémon Journeys: The Series

A Latias appereared in The Road Most Traveled!, where Ash encountered an injured Latias and helped her to recover, even saving her from being captured by Team Rocket. At the end of the episode, she started to secretly follow Ash. In Rocket Revengers!, she revealed herself to him and showed him a vision of a Latios in danger. After Latios had been saved in the next episode, Latias bid Ash farewell and journeyed to Alto Mare with Latios. While flying around Alto Mare, the duo passed by the Latias from Pokémon Heroes: Latios & Latias.

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Animated Trailer

A Mega Latias and Latios appeared in the Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire Animated Trailer, under the ownership of May and Brendan, respectively. They were seen soaring in the sky with their Trainers.

In the manga

Latias and Latios in Pokémon Adventures

Pokémon Adventures

Main article: Eon duo (Adventures)

Latias and Latios have prominent roles in multiple arcs of the Pokémon Adventures manga. They are long-time friends of Emerald and can talk telepathically.

Emerald arc

Latios and Latias appear frequently throughout the arc to support Emerald and his friends at the Battle Frontier. Latias uses her ability to disguise herself as a human to aid Emerald at various points, including during his Battle Pike challenge. During the climax of the arc, they also partake in the final confrontation against the villainous Guile Hideout.

Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire arc

The duo reappears in this arc, though this time, Latios receives more focus than Latias. Having unlocked the ability to Mega Evolve, Latios helps Ruby to traverse across Hoenn by soaring in the sky. He and Latias also briefly fight against Groudon and Kyogre when they are reawakened.
