Qi'ra is a 2018 Star Wars character from Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Background[]

Qi'ra is one of Han Solo's childhood friend, and one of his crew members during the reign of the Galactic Empire. The two were young lovers surviving as street rats on the industrial world of Corellia before an abortive escape attempt separated them for several years. The pair were eventually reunited to pull off a coaxium heist alongside Qi'ra's employer Dryden Vos and Solo's mentor Tobias Beckett. It was during the course of this job, however, that Qi'ra's true nature as a masterful manipulator came to the forefront, and she played both Vos and Solo against one another, eventually usurping the former as leader of the Crimson Dawn crime syndicate.

Though the heist was successful and provided valuable fuel to the nascent Rebel Alliance cell led by Enfys Nest, Qi'ra was put at odds with her former lover. She eventually embarked on a series of dealings with, among other entities, the true puppetmaster of the Crimson Dawn, Darth Maul, and Imperial enforcer Darth Vader, the latter of whom hunted Solo alongside his new companions in the Alliance. Qi'ra attempted to muster a resistance effort of her own against the Empire, though it was not a successful venture. These efforts brought her into multiple personal confrontations with Emperor Palpatine himself, alongside his endless legions of stormtroopers and Star Destroyers; she even encountered elements of the Sith Eternal, a threat to the galaxy that would not emerge fully for decades. Eventually the Dawn dissolved around the time of the climatic Battle of Endor, during which Palpatine and Vader perished, and Qi'ra disappeared into relative obscurity, though her contributions to the galaxy's liberation under the New Republic were recalled by archivists and by her erstwhile ally Leia Organa.

• In the film Solo: A Star Wars Story, Qi'ra was portrayed by actress Emilia Clarke. Clarke also had a leading role in the Marvel miniseries Secret Invasion, featuring fellow Star Wars actors Samuel L. Jackson (Mace Windu), Ben Mendelsohn [Director Orson Krennic) and sequel trilogy stunt coordinator Rob Inch.

• Her head was also seen in Captain Marvel's film variant.
