The Wholesome Foods Mega-Store was a planned expansion of Wholesome Foods to Elkins Street, replacing the next-door Elkins Apartment and Big Coffee. The Greens' house was to be the site of the store's dumpster, but the tenants resisted and fought back, which was seen by Mayor Hansock as a call to action, said action being the demolition of the Mega-Store and the banning of Wholesome Foods' power-hungry CEO, Chip Whistler.
History[]
In "Chipwrecked", Chip Whistler, out of spite against the Greens and Gloria Sato, assumes control of Big Coffee, as the company and branch, and shuts it down, with the Elkins Apartment following in "Chipocalypse Now". Chip demolishes both buildings and in the course of a week, builds the Mega-Store in their places, though the Greens' house remains the final obstacle. The mission to reverse the construction was plagued with problems, from the mayor disallowing an investigation due to being affiliated with Chip through a "petition" and Nancy Green being thrown in jail.
As night falls, Chip and his wrecking crew arrives to begin demolition of the house, though the Greens' intricate defenses halt the bulldozers that were intended for use, forcing Chip to send his crew into battle. As the Greens changed their defensive tactics, the crew changed their offensive tactics; all the while, two brave infiltrators have entered the building (with a little thanks to Gloria, who sacrificed her new job to help the kids) in search of evidence the petition was faked. The Wholesome Squad was only deployed at battle's end to deal with Cricket and Remy, the former escaping through the ventilation shaft and the latter taunting, causing the squad to drop their imposing stances in exchange for caring ones.
It is also during this time Nancy, Officer Keys and the mayor arrives, Tilly has rallied the Greens' allies all over Big City to resist Chip's construction and Cricket emerges with the evidence; seeing Keys and Hansock down there, Cricket attempts to show everyone the petition was faked, but was stopped by Chip's new helicopter. In his copter, Chip watches his plans fall apart as the resistance, united by their friendship with the Greens, arrive to oppose the construction, causing Hansock to change his decision and ban Chip forever for good. With Chip flung far away, the Mega-Store is closed and demolished.
Facilities[]
As with all other Wholesome Foods branches, the Mega-Store was a regular grocery store, though it spanned over two buildings. The upper wing, which arched over the Greens' house, housed Chip's office and more stores. The store also had a "Wholesome Garbage" shaft on the upper wing, which would have led to a Wholesome Foods dumpster, had the Greens' house not gotten in the way.
Chip's office had lighting on the floor, a large cheesy painting of Chip himself and a laptop, complete with a view of Big City.
