Space Is Fun is the third song from Big City Greens the Movie: Spacecation.
Synopsis[]
Having frozen Colleen in a cryotube, Cricket shows Bill the benefits of enjoying the spacecation, and all the fun things they can do on it. Tilly and Gramma join in on backup, with Bill gradually changing from nervousness to excitement as he starts to embrace the fun. He gets hit with trash at the end, leading to the encounter of the trashteroid field.
After visiting the space hotel, Bill sings a brief reprise showing how much fun he sees space now, and is now intent on finishing the mission and going to it to Cricket's excitement.
Lyrics[]
Cricket: Space isn't what you had in mind,
And I understand your frustration
But kick up your feet and try to unwind
On your new exciting spacecation!
All but Bill: Space is great!
Space is fun!
What's more fun than fun?
Tilly and Gramma: NOTHING!
All but Bill: Space is the best!
The best, bar none!
Cricket: I'll convince you before this song is done!
We can deep-sea fish out in the stars,
And hope for a big bite
Who knows what we'll catch up here?
Tilly: Oh, look! A satellite!
Cricket: Let's explore an old abandoned ship,
And see what we discover!
Gramma: Wait, is that a chimpanzee?!
Tilly: This excites me, yeah, as an animal lover!
(Bill screams from a lack of oxygen)
Cricket: It's okay, Dad! It's okay! Just breath... see? You're fine!
All: Space is great!
Space is fun!
What's more fun than fun?
Tilly and Gramma: NOTHING!
All: So clap along, everyone
Gramma: Open up your ears and listen to your son!
Cricket: Finally, we'll bungee jump
Right at the earth below!
An adrenaline rush with a view?
That's a pretty sweet combo!
So come on Dad, you must admit,
Other than that chimpanzee bit,
At this point you must see
Just how awesome space can be...YEAH!
All: Space is great!
Space is fun!
What's more fun than fun?
Bill: Well, we still got those crops to harvest
But after that the hotel sounds marvelous
'Cause now I finally see
Just how awesome space can be
Trivia[]
- The multicolored flashing walls of light at the beginning are reminiscent of the "Stargate" sequence from the finale of 2001: A Space Odyssey.
- The boot that Bill reels in during the space fishing scene foreshadows the appearance of the trashteroid field, which the Greens encounter right after the song.
