Green Family Vacation is the first song from Big City Greens the Movie: Spacecation.
Synopsis[]
The Greens prepare for their annual family vacation and voice their excitement at such; throughout, each member explains what they do and how they see it, and try to guess what the vacation is. At the end of the song, Bill reveals the vacation is the same road trip as always, disappointing Cricket.
Lyrics[]
All: Ever since our family left
The farm for the city so big
Each day has been adventurous
For us, and our pig!
Tilly: And our cows, and our goat, and our dog, and our cat.
Cricket: We sell our crops the whole year through
Tilly: Survivin' the rat race
Bill: Pinch pennies, dimes and dollars, too
Gramma: Now I gotta get away from this place!
All: We're goin' on a Green family vacation
Gonna have the best time of our lives!
On a Green family vacation
Cricket: Maybe my dad will let me drive.
Bill: No chance on Earth.
Tilly: So where we goin'?
Bill: Sorry, guys,
Can't tell you, it would spoil the surprise!
All: Green family vacation, I can't wait!
Bill: All right, kids, go pack your suitcases!
Cricket: Vacation's about the exciting and new
And getting all the fun that you can get!
So to make sure this one's awesome too,
I made my dad a paaaaaamphleeeeeet!!!
It's full of great ideas for trips,
Each one wild and cool!
So whichever one Dad picks,
it's guaranteed to rule!
Which one will be our...
All: Green family vacation
Cricket: Maybe surfin' mile high waves
All: On a Green family vacation
Cricket: Or hunting gold in caves
All: On a Green family vacation
Cricket: Could be that I'll soon be braggin'
All: On a Green family vacation
Cricket: 'Bout ridin' horses on a dragon
Tilly: On trips, I keep a journal
To note my discoveries
Like the rest stop where we found Bigfoot,
Or that giant wheel of cheese
Gramma: Vacation is for runnin' free,
And gettin' into scrapes
Dang leg, you best keep up with me,
Better give it extra tape!!
Bill: It'll be so fun to surprise everyone
With a trip we won't forget!
Nancy: Bill, by all means, I'll watch Chateau de Greens,
And chill here with your pets.
Bill: I think of them more as our friendly livestock than our pets.
Nancy: You try rhymin' livestock. See, this is why we got divorced.
Tilly: Hi, Mom!
Cricket: Bye, Mom!
All: Big City, so long!
We're goin' on a Green family vacation
Tilly: I'm just ecstatic!
All: On a Green family vacation
Cricket: It feels so cinematic!
All: On a Green family vacation
Cricket: What's in store? A shark safari?
All: On a Green family vacation
Tilly: What shall we find?
Gramma: Who cares? Let's party!
All: We're on our Green family vacation
Cricket: I could SCREAM!! FAMILY VACATION!!!
All: On a Green family vacation, I can't wait!
Tilly: Papa, where we going?
Cricket: If you don't tell me right now, I'll EXPLODE!
Tilly: Please, tell us, Papa!
Bill: Okay, here it is! We are going... on the exact same sight-seeing road trip we went on last year!
Cricket: ...WHAT?!?!?
Trivia[]
- In this song, it is revealed that Nancy and Bill got divorced because Bill tried rhyming the word "livestock", or at least because of his pickiness.
- Tilly is revealed to have kept track of all her discoveries in a journal.
- Tilly's journal photos of "Bigfoot" and the wheel of cheese foreshadow the vacation being the same road trip as always, as those photos were most likely taken during one.
- At the end of the first chorus, Cricket suggests Bill might let him drive the Kludge and he replies, "No chance on Earth." Cricket ends up driving the Kludge on the farming asteroid when Bill gets captured out by the Farmbots.
