– Aggregor after defeating Brainstorm.[1] |
The Shock Staff[script 1][guide 1] was Aggregor's primary weapon.
Appearance[]
The Shock Staff is a metal polearm that is approximately 7 feet in length. Appearance-wise, it is a cross between a staff, a glaive, a guandao and (with the way the blade is divided into three connected blades) a trident. The staff has a metal hook jutting out below were the shaft arcs out to form the blade.
Functions[]
The Shock Staff appears to convert kinetic energy into its red energy blasts, as Aggregor would spin the staff before firing a blast of energy.[1]
Aggregor can use the Shock Staff as a bladed weapon to stab or hit targets with. The staff can also be used as a ranged weapon to fire blasts of red energy that come from itself and not Aggregor.[DM 1] This energy is powerful enough to penetrate other energy fields,[guide 1] blast opponents, and disable machinery.
The staff was designed to combat electromanipulative species, as it can absorb electricity and convert it into its energy blasts for extra damage.[1]
The staff can use an aura of red energy to clear away mounds of rubble and lift beings as large as Andreas.[2]
The staff can block mana attacks.[1]
The staff can be used to absorb and redirect magnetic fields, as shown when Aggregor briefly fought Lodestar and knocked his head off.[3]

Trivia[]
- While it is unknown what happened to the Shock Staff after Aggregor's transformation into Ultimate Aggregor,[4] Dwayne McDuffie stated that "nothing" happened to it at all.[DM 2]
- This would mean Aggregor abandoned it at Los Soledad after defeating the team and leaving Earth.[5]
- The Shock Staff was originally supposed to be a two-pronged spear with glowy Kirby glyphs.[outline 1][6]
