Hoverboards are a type of technology, typically alien in origin, that are almost identical to skateboards or surf boards. When one stands on one, it hovers in the air and can move in any direction at great speeds.

The X321 hoverboard
Tetrax's X321 hoverboard was first seen in Hunted, where Tetrax used it several times for transportation. Tetrax gave the hoverboard to Ben at the end of the episode.
In Tough Luck, Ben used this hoverboard to get to Hex. At the end of the episode, Gwen took it for a ride.
In The Visitor, Ben went to the docks on his hoverboard to find the Mechadroid controlling Max's Plumber suit.
In Secret of the Omnitrix, Grey Matter attacked Dr. Animo with the hoverboard, but it fell into nuclear waste and was destroyed.
Ben's Second Hoverboard[]
In Secret of the Omnitrix, Tetrax gave Ben a replacement hoverboard after his X321 was destroyed.
In Destroy All Aliens, during Ben's dream, he was seen riding on his second hoverboard through an abandoned Bellwood. He was then attacked by Heatblast, Four Arms, Stinkfly, Diamondhead and Wildmutt, but Ben managed to get away from all of them by using his hoverboard. Then, since all of it was a dream, the hoverboard turned into Upgrade, letting Ben fall to the ground.
Later in the movie, Ben and Tetrax flew into a forest with their respective hoverboards and headed to where Tetrax's ship was parked. Ben flew off to look for Azmuth, and on the road, the Omnitrix made a bright flash. A truck headed towards Ben, but Ben crashed his hoverboard and the Omnitrix zapped the truck, which veered into the forest.
Ben used this hoverboard in Of Predators and Prey: Part 1 to escape Khyber, until Khyber destroyed it.
Ben, at some point, had this hoverboard repaired or replaced with an identical model, as it reappeared in Ben's bedroom in Collect This.
Tetrax's Second Hoverboard[]

Tetrax used another blue-coloured hoverboard, after giving his X321 to Ben, on Incarcecon, until it was destroyed by a Tetramand. This hoverboard was his favorite.
Tetrax's Third Hoverboard[]
Tetrax used a third hoverboard to travel across Xenon.
In Destroy All Aliens, Ben and Tetrax flew into a forest with their respective hoverboards and headed to where Tetrax's ship was parked.
Ben 10,000's Hoverboard[]
In Ben 10,000, 10-year-old Ben found one of Ben 10,000's hoverboards and rode it around until XLR8 took it away from him. Upgrade later merged with it and then hit Vilgax with it. Ben 10,000 would later ride it in human form to outsmart Vilgax.
Kenny's X321 Hoverboard[]

In Ken 10, Kenny received a X321 hoverboard for his 10th birthday from his great-grandfather. Kenny flew it when he stormed off and turned into Wildvine to show off to Devlin.

- Tetrax's X321 hoverboard is made of hard-light, created by specialized Petropian crystals.[pop-up 1][1]
- Hoverboard-based combat requires intensive training and use of holographic simulators. Ben, however, is a natural.[pop-up 2][2]
- Even though it does not appear in Alien Force, the four-inch Ben Tennyson figure comes with a hoverboard. He is also seen to have one in promo art.
- Similarly, the Albedo action figure comes with a hoverboard, even though he does not use one at all on-screen.
