Brainfrog is the Hero Watch's DNA sample of a Galvan[1][2] from the planet Galvan Prime.[Bandai 1]
Appearance[]
Brainfrog looks almost identical to 11-year-old Grey Matter in the Omniverse intro except his eyes are light blue and the white part of his jumpsuit is blue. The Omnitrix on his back is blue with a golden rim.
Powers and Abilities[]
Brainfrog's small size belies his great calculative and technical intellect. He can create complicated machines from spare parts, understand the function of any device at a glance, and make sophisticated repairs to complex machines (such as a warp-drive engine).[3] In fact, when Ben becomes Brainfrog, he instantly knows more about the Hero Watch's inner workings, including how to recitfy it being tampered with;[4] its malfunctions; and how to remove its limiter (the latter two being demonstrated by Prime Ben as Grey Matter[5] and Ken as Grey Matter,[6] respectively.)
Brainfrog's intellect serves as a problem solver and analytical help in difficult situations. This allows Brainfrog to think more strategically when brute force is inefficient. He is also generally knowledgeable; even if he does not know something, he can learn it very quickly.[DJW 1]
Brainfrog's brain capacity also gives him an intuitive understanding of things he has never even seen before, like Kraab's alien circuitry.[pop-up 1][7] Brainfrog's multidisciplinary intellect can also extend to understanding unfamiliar languages, such as that of the Lovely Duck's Artifical Intelligence, Pyxi.
Brainfrog's size allows him to squeeze into small spaces and he can climb walls due to microscopic pads on his skin.[pop-up 2][2] He also has sharp teeth that can cause massive pain to those he bites.[5]
Brainfrog is stronger than he looks, as Grey Matter was strong enough to move a cleaner's bucket with mops in it[8] and break a coolant pipe to freeze the Vreedle Brothers.[9]
Brainfrog can breathe underwater[10] due to having gills, making him amphibious.[DJW 2]
Brainfrog has a long prehensile tongue, owing to his insectivore nature, as demonstrated with Blukic.[11] As a Galvan, he also possesses a "pre-brain" which deals with all basic bodily functions.[12][13]
Weaknesses[]
Brainfrog's small size makes him unsuitable for physical battle, so he must outsmart his enemies in a fight. Animals like dogs and cats can be a problem, as they may see Brainfrog as a chew toy or food to them.[8]
Brainfrog does not know everything, as seen when Grey Matter (initially) did not know which galaxy his species is from.[5] Despite possessing immense intelligence, Brainfrog can still make miscalculations, as Grey Matter's attempt to upgrade the Rustbucket's air conditioner caused it to overheat instead, incapacitating the vehicle.[14]
Brainfrog is vulnerable to electricity.[15]
Brainfrog can be constrained by a DNAlien's slime.[16]
