An Ooze Mephit is an extra-planar "outsider" (i.e., linked to various Elemental, Quasi-Elemental and Outer planes of existence). These creatures are similar to Imps, and can be found during the Baldur's Gate II game.
Gameplay[]
An Ooze Mephit can attack twice per round in melee for 1d3 (slashing) damage. It also has the Stinking Cloud (Innate) ability.
The mephit will initiate the Stinking Cloud attack, which launches a cloud projectile at an area in which an observed target is detected. The Ooze Mephit can only attempt this innate ability attack every 5 rounds after the initial launch, meaning that it will likely be dead well before its second attempt.
The cloud can cause a nausea effect, which is implemented as making the party member Unconscious unless a Saving throw vs. Death (with a +2 bonus) is made. The effect can last for 9 seconds - during which time the character will be in the Helpless state, and if damaged it will Not "wake up" the affected creature. Any party member in the cloud must make a saving throw each round it is exposed to the cloud.
The ooze Mephit has no magic resistance, however it does retain fire and physical damage resistances. The InfoBox summarizes their special abilities and immunities to certain status effects. The game has the creature with a memorized Blur spell but it isn't scripted to use it, so it is probably just a developer creature file copy-paste remnant.
