Brain Golems are found with Mind Flayer creatures in their dwelling places. The Master Brain can near instantly create these (although they are not treated as summoned creatures).
Gameplay[]
These are hulking constructs created from animated brain tissue. They share some similarity with a Clay Golem. They are immune to most magic, cold and electricity and only partially vulnerable to fire.
Most importantly, just like their clay brethren, Brain Golems resist all types of physical damage save crushing - and even then, the blunt weapons must be of at least +2 enchantment to cause any harm.
Their resistance to specific status effects is listed in the InfoBox.
The golem will launch a Psionic Blast at their nearest enemy when it is heavily wounded.
While fighting, the golem attacks with their clubbing fist, although they only get a single melee attack per round.
Note[]
There is another version of the creature in the game files, GOLBRA01, but apparently is not used anywhere in the game.

Mod content[]
- This section is about unofficial content that is only available via fan-made mods.
The Sword Coast Stratagems mod Makes modest changes to this creature, exclusively to its AI script for smarter tactical behavior, and a few additional status effect immunities.
These include immunity to Lower Resistance, Pierce Magic and Pierce Shield. All others are the same as the unmodified creature.
The Golem Construction for Spellcasters mod adds a found item that can be recovered from the dead Brain Golem - this item is called "Brain Tissue" which is a component for the party spell caster to create its own variety of the golem.
