Incident V1 is a prominent incident that occurred within the Backrooms. The first of the events that lead up to the incident was the discovery of a new sub-entity. Following that, the sub-entity was transported to the nearest E.R.C. laboratory in Level 1 to be studied. It remained there for 9 months and, during its time there, it was infrequently fed with deceased entities so the scientists could observe any subsequent changes.
The incident began when the sub-entity broke free of its containment in the laboratory. Following that, the entity proceeded to slaughter most of the personnel in the laboratory and escaped; its current whereabouts are unknown.
The incident began when the scientists in the laboratory decided to feed the young Viscera a deceased Skin-Stealer to record any subsequent biological changes that might occur as a result. The Viscera had already been fed with deceased entities dozens of times for similar experimental purposes, and each time it had gained a proportionately small but permanent increase in biomass. At one point, it even morphed into a roughly humanoid shape.
Because the entity was being held in a cage of ultra-reinforced glass and hardened steel, we thought that there was little to no risk of the entity breaking free, even after being fed additional biomass, but we were wrong.
Once the Viscera had fully absorbed this final Skin-Stealer, it started to repeatedly smash at the glass until it broke. From then on, it began to slaughter everyone in sight, until only a select few — including me — who had managed to successfully hide were left alive.
It is currently unknown where the creature went following the carnage, but it has not been spotted as of now in the short time since these events transpired.
- E.R.C. Researcher Cameron Ferris
This log took place as soon as the final Skin-Stealer carcass was given to the Viscera for it to feed on.
Preceding this, the carcass was transported into the cage through an opened hatch in one of the cage's sides via a large mechanical arm, which was in turn situated mainly in an adjacent precautionary cage connected to the main one.
Three scientists (S1, S2, S3) and two guards (G1, G2) were present in the recording as well as other untitled scientists and guards.
Any relevant events transpiring in the original recording have been subsequently documented in text in the following log for convenience.
<Commence>
<The mechanical arm, having successfully placed the deceased Skin-Stealer in the Viscera's cage, retracts back into its own cage. As the hatch is subsequently closed, the Viscera walks to the corpse and immediately begins feeding.>
S1: Alright, the food's in.
<S2 checks their computer monitor.>
S2: Readings are normal. It's attempting to convert as much of its food as it can into its own biomass while still absorbing the necessary amount of nutrients to sustain its basic biological functions.
<The Viscera finishes its meal, leaving only small chunks of flesh on the floor of its cage.>
S3: Uhhh, why's it looking at us like that?
S1: Yeah, that's strange.
<The Viscera suddenly hits the reinforced glass with its fist, leaving a small crack.>
S1: Oh no.
<The Viscera continues to hit the glass, manifesting tentacles with sharp tips from its back to assist it in doing so. The glass cracks more and more following each hit.>
S3: (loudly) Oh shit!
S1: (shouting) Sound the alarm!
<One of the scientists slams their hand on the alarm button and the alarm blares loudly.>
S2: (shouting) Run!
<The scientists run away as the Viscera smashes the glass and leaps out, letting out a sound somewhere between a deep roar and an animalistic shriek. It impales two of the scientists with its tendrils and throws them across the laboratory, then transforms one of its arms into an amorphous tendril to grab a scientist farther away and drag them toward it by the ankle. It then lifts the scientist and proceeds to bite their entire head off before dropping the remaining corpse. Four guards arrive and begin firing at the Viscera, to little effect. The Viscera leaps over to the first one and punches them with such force that they are sent flying across the room, their head caved in. The other guards keep shooting and the entity slashes at another one of the guards with its claws. The slashed guard falls, dead, as the other two guards keep shooting, now with a clearer line of sight.>
G1: (shouting) Bullets aren't working!
G2: (shouting) You think!? (Shouting into microphone) All guards, requesting backup! I repeat, requesting backu-
<The Viscera impales G2 with a sharpened tendril and then turns its attention to G1. More guards arrive and two of them attempt to burn the entity with flamethrowers. The cameraman turns away at this point, presumably to look for a safe exit should the Viscera finish with the guards and turn on them, and the sounds of fire burning, screams, and the ripping of flesh can be heard in the background. The cameraman then runs to the nearest exit. The screams stop and only wet chewing sounds can be heard behind. Seconds later, those sounds stop as well, and something large can be heard running toward the cameraman's current location. The camera swivels to show the Viscera running toward the cameraman, and then it swivels again as the cameraman attempts to continue to run for it. A monstrous roar and a scream are heard before the camera is knocked away and lands on the ground nearby.>
