The best way to let me know what you're after is by just going right up and touching it.
― Bettina, City Folk

Bettina (マルコ, Maruko?) is a normal mouse villager in the Animal Crossing series. Her name bears no references to her character type or appearance, but her initial quote, "eekers", is a reference to the sound made by mice. Her Japanese name, "Maruko", is a common girl's name in Japan. 丸 (まる maru?) also means "round", which may refers to her round cheeks and eyes.

She has the education hobby.

Appearance[]

Bettina in City Folk

Bettina is a dark red-orange mouse with yellow cheeks and yellow inner ears, as well as yellow paws and a yellow and orange striped tail. She has short, dark blonde hair swept to the right of her head. She initially wears the chef uniform. When it rains she will carry the snowball umbrella.

Personality

Below is a brief description of the normal personality. For more information, click here.

Bettina has a normal personality, and frequently acts kind towards the player. Normal villagers generally get along well with lazy, peppy, smug, snooty, and other normal villagers. Bettina may conflict with cranky and sisterly villagers. As a normal villager, Bettina will usually wake up at 6:00 am and is easier to befriend than most. Both normal and peppy villagers reference an unseen friend known as Moppina.

House[]

In City Folk, Bettina's house has a kitchen theme to it. She has many kitchen items, such as the kitchen sink, the sink, the refrigerator, and the range. She also has a picnic table, and some pothos. Her wallpaper is the sweets wall, and her flooring is the sweets floor.

In New Leaf, her house interior is similar to the City Folk incarnation, with the biggest difference being that she now owns a few modern wood items. She owns the modern wood bed, the modern wood shelf, and the modern wood table. She displays a tea set, and a toaster on top of her modern wood table. Her kitchen items return from the last game, with the range being replaced with a deluxe range, and the sink being nowhere to be found. Her turntable plays K.K. Swing. Bettina's wallpaper is the old brick wall, and her flooring is the common floor.

In New Horizons, Bettina's house exterior is orange with brown trim and a yellow door. The roof is a deep orange. Her interior is stylized as a café or kitchen, consisting of many kitchen appliances such as a white refrigerator, white freezer, utility sink, light brown kitchen island, as well as a coffee grinder and red espresso machine which rest upon an oak ironwood cupboard. Other kitchen décor include a wooden pot rack hanging on the northern wall, and a polka dots coffee cup placed on top of the kitchen island. There is an iron entrance mat at the house threshold, to the right of which are a white standard umbrella stand with dotted umbrella, as well as a white iron hanger stand with shell pink scarf. To the left of the entrance is a natural antique console table and phonograph. Bettina's wallpaper is the blackboard wall, and her flooring is the birch flooring.
