A fine summary to Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan series focusing on the most important (from the point of view of creators, of course) parts of it. Manly epicness, epic manliness, all that wrapped in flashy explosions and boing ... Yoko ... it sure brings back some (good) memories. The whole summary consists from two "stand-alone" movies - each somehow covering corresponding halves of the series. Because of that, some parts making the series more enjoyable are omitted (as well as few epic fights, mainly the fall of Teppelin that I really missed); still, this summary is good if you want to "re-watch" the show.
Nevertheless, summary is only a summary, so I don't replace the series by them - just a "friendly" advice.

Kamina is now certain that there is a world above their tiny pit-village. Encouraged, he begins to fight recklessly against the robot, until he encounters another person who has arrived from the land above. She is a beautiful girl by the name of Youko, who has come from a neighbouring village with a rifle in hand. She has been hunting the robot, but her shots only seem to irritate it. Desperately trying to escape its attacks, Simon brings Kamina and Yoko to what he had previously found: A mysterious robot with a head for a body.
And so begins the "epic" adventure...

Really great summary of the first part of the series! Almost exactly as the series except for the end. If you want to re-watch the series, I suggest watching the movies, they are really well made!

Only for those who want to see Gurren Lagann but don't want to watch 27 episodes - this one covers first half of the anime in 2 hours movie.

Does not quite measure up the original series. Felt like they rushed through a few cool fights. But on the other hand.. all the boring parts are skipped as well. Watch the series first, and this when you feel the urge to rewatch!
