NHS Volunteers
NHS Volunteer Responders has been set up to support the NHS during the COVID-19 outbreak. To do this they need an 'army' of volunteers who can support those who are at most risk from the virus to stay well.
You can help by signing up for one or more of the tasks listed on their NHS Volunteer Responders page.
Fireworks in our Villages
Fireworks are now set off throughout the year and are louder and more spectacular than ever.
However, they can terrify animals, causing needless pyschological and physical suffering in cattle, horses, ponies, dogs, and cats, all of which we have in and around Tidmarsh and Sulham.
The law states: "It is an offence under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 to cause any unnecessary suffering to any captive or domestic animal. Fireworks must not be set off near livestock or horses in fields or close to buildings that house livestock. The offence carries a fine of up to 20,000 and/or a prison term of up to six months. The act is enforced by local councils, animal health officers, and the police".
If planning a Firework Party, please pause, consider if animals are nearby and Act Considerately. Thank you!
