Info
- Whispers from the Void infuse Xaku with untold power, expending 25 energy to empower all equipped Weapons to inflict 1 extra hit per damage instance for 17% / 23% / 23% / 26% of total weapon damage as Void damage. Xata's Whisper lasts for 20 / 30 / 30 / 35 seconds.
- Casting Speed is affected by Natural Talent and Speed Drift.
- The extra Void damage hit can remove Sentient and Shadow Stalker's damage adaptation resistances upon triggering a Status Effect.
- Extra hit per damage instance does not provide extra Melee Combo or Sniper Rifle combo gain.
- Xata's Whisper duration appears on the ability icon, as well as beside Xaku's shield and health indicators as a buff icon with the damage bonus and timer.
- Xata's Whisper Void damage is based on a percentage of the total weapon damage.
- Damage bonus is a separate damage instance, and does not dilute weapon elements.
- Affected by base, elemental, critical, and faction damage mods (e.g. Serration, Hornet Strike, Pressure Point, Convulsion, Cleanse Grineer, Vital Sense, etc)
- Faction Damage Mods, after first applying to your weapon, will multiply the damage bonus a second time, effectively double-dipping.
- The ability double dips on faction damage, and body part weaknesses.
- Xata's Whisper can proc the Void Status Effect based on the weapon's total status chance.
- The bullet attractor turns enemy projectiles towards themselves, effectively reflecting damage. This even applies to hit-scan weapons, which cannot exit the bubble.
- The Void damage applies to most weapon hits, including Acid Shells and Concealed Explosives, but not Bursting Mass or Pathocyst's maggots.
- Since the damage bonus is not applied to the weapon directly, and only activates on-hit, it will not be absorbed into Bursting Mass.
- The Void damage bonus does not allow Xaku's weapons to damage Eidolon Shields of the Eidolon Teralyst, Eidolon Gantulyst and Eidolon Hydrolyst, nor the ghostly energy form of the Eidolon Vomvalyst, nor the Thrax Centurion or Thrax Legatus enemies from the Zariman Ten Zero.
- Damage is affected by Ancient Disruptor auras and other enemies that reduce ability damage, unlike other weapon buffing skills.
- Ability Synergy:
- Grasp of Lohk Void replicas and The Lost's sub-abilities do not benefit from the additional Void damage bonus of Xata's Whisper.
- The Vast Untime renders enemies 50% more vulnerable to Void damage and pauses Xata's Whisper's duration timer while active.
- Can be recast while active to refresh the duration.
- Casting Xata's Whisper is an upper-body animation that allows movement while restricting other actions.
- On cast, Xaku's right shoulder and arm pieces visually detach then return to position. While active, Infested grey matter envelops their entire body as the Void veins pulse and glow with energy, while surrounded by a Void energy cloud near the torso.
- Subsuming Xaku to the Helminth will offer Xata's Whisper and its augments to be used by other Warframes.
Tips & Tricks
- When fighting against Sentients, it is recommended to use and mod weapons with high status chance, in order to efficiently reset their damage resistances.
- Recast the ability to refresh its duration or activate The Vast Untime to pause Xata's Whisper's duration timer, effectively prolonging the buff on Xaku as a semi-permanent damage bonus for all equipped weapons.
Patch History[]
Hotfix 32.2.9 (2023-01-11)
- Fixed script errors caused by Xaku’s Grasp of Lohk, Xata’s Whisper, and The Vast Untime.
Hotfix 32.0.3 (2022-09-14)
- Fixed the Laetum and Felarx gaining charges in their Incarnon form from headshots while Xata’s Whisper is active.
Update 29.5 (2020-11-19)
- Void damage’s Status Effect will now redirect projectiles to the body part it proc’d on.
- How it will work: If you shoot at an enemy’s head with Xata’s Whisper enabled and proc, the bubble will redirect all projectiles to the head. If you shoot at the feet, it’ll be redirected to the feet, etc.! It is however possible that even if you proc on the head but then shoot at the lower part of the bubble it might hit the body on the way up to being redirected to the head.
- This is a game wide change to Void Status Effect! Now that we have a Warframe that can harness Void damage at the click of a button, it has brought much focus to and discussion around its Status Effect. For those of you who are unfamiliar, in its current state it creates a bullet attractor bubble that directs all projectiles to the center of the enemy’s torso regardless of where it procs. Since Xata’s Whisper applies Void damage to all of their weapons, it was increasingly noticeable to Xaku players that the bubble’s current redirecting position prevents any attempt at enemy headshots until its duration expires. This is one of the main reasons for this change. Headshot disruption ultimately limits your damage output by removing the opportunity for headshot multipliers while it is active. Now, you will be able to use your headshotting skills to greater benefit, while also having generally more options to focus projectiles where desired. Note that regardless of where the Status Effect occurs, it will continue to prevent enemies from being able to shoot at you without having their projectiles redirected back to the center of the bubble.
- Fixed Xaku’s Xata’s Whisper sometimes not applying its damage buff or Void Status Effect when using the Komorex.
- Fixed Xaku’s Xata’s Whisper not using the intended Status Chance for projectile weapons.
- Fixed the HUD timer icon for Xata’s Whisper in the top right corner ticking down regardless of The Vast Untime being active. This was only a visual bug, and did not actually affect the ‘time freezing’ synergy with The Vast Untime and Xaku’s other abilities.
Hotfix 29.3.2 (2020-11-05)
- Fixed Saryn’s Toxic Lash and Xata's Whisper Status Effect procs from also proc'ing the other.
Update 29.1 (2020-09-17)
- We are making Void damage ‘True Neutral’ by removing the 50% resistance of Void damage on Cloned Flesh and Fossilized enemies - a long desired request for Void damage.
- Currently, Void damage is relatively ineffective against Cloned Flesh and Fossilized enemies which greatly limits the use of Xata’s Whisper on Grineer and Infested enemies. In an effort to give it (and Void damage in general) more utility across enemy categories, we are removing this resistance so that it aligns with its neutral effectiveness against the other enemy types. It is important to note that Eidolons, Amalgams, and certain bosses will still maintain this resistance.
- Fixed a case of dealing self damage via Xata’s Whisper.
