~ Three |
Three is a major antagonist of the 2013 role-playing game Drakengard 3.
She was voiced by Mamiko Noto in Japanese and Meia Lee in English.
Biography[]
Origins[]
Three and the other Intoners came to be when Zero attempted to kill herself by destroying the Flower possessing her, each obtaining a fragment of Zero's powers. They took the forms of five girls that Zero shared her prison cell with. Starting off amoral, the fragments grew personalities of their own. After overthrowing the tyrannical lords of Midgard, the Intoners divided the land among each other. Three took over the Land of Forests and appointed Octa as her disciple. Zero then plotted to put an end to the Intoners to destroy the Flower for good.
DLC[]
Three tells Octa that the soldiers have been acting mischievous lately and suggests they hunt down her strongest enhanced monsters to deliver a most effective punishment. First they go to the Cathedral City to battle against the ogres that Three modified, giving them names just to make her battle more exhilarating for her. After that, they go to the Temple of Sands to battle imps. Next they go to the Mountain Country's Fortress to battle Cerberuses, with One having sent Gabriella to aid her. Gabriella is confused why or how Three could find enjoyment in killing her own creations, but Three tells her that they were created to test her might. Upon defeating all of them, Gabriella requests Three to praise her for her success, only to discover Three fell asleep on her back, much to her annoyance.
Three and Octa then go to a colosseum, where Three created her "masterpieces". They are attacked by several gigantes, but Three simply calls them a warm-up. They are then attacked by undead gigantes, which Three identify as simply spare parts created from junk of her other creations. Lastly they fight against Three's final creations, greater gigantes. As a way to gain them true sentience, Three mixed the gigantes with humans, giving them the ability to talk. According to her mumblings, Three disposed of fifty-six humans during her research, recalling one instance where she killed a father while his wife and daughter watched before she turned them into soldiers. Octa continued to watch in discomfort as Three took sheer pleasure in fighting her monsters, all while the larger gigas remarked how it wanted her dead and the smaller gigas cried for its "mother".
Upon the deaths of the gigantes, Three asks Octa about what is most important to him.
Prologue[]
In the year 999, One invites her sisters to the Cathedral City. Three was the last to arrive on March 3rd, earlier before Zero infiltrated the city the same day. Three and the other Intoners fought against Zero, successfully managing to defeat her.
Branch A[]
Three is encountered in the Land of Forests, enraged that Octa betrayed her in favor of Zero. She sings as a way to force Octa to summon Armisael. Zero defeats the Daemon and incapacitates Three by kicking Armisael's stone head onto her. Three effortlessly throws the head aside, taunting Zero that it will take a lot more than that to kill her. Suddenly, while Three walks towards Zero, Mikhail swallows her whole, leaving only her scissors behind.
Branch B[]
Three first appears when Zero first enters the Land of Forests and fights an army of Armisaels, warning her that strange winds are at play. Later on, Three encounters Zero once more before suddenly collapsing. Three tells Zero that she invited One to the forest to kill her, but something had gone amiss, revealed to be Two. Three warns Zero to be careful before dying.
Branch C[]
Three is already dead in this branch.
Branch D[]
Three fights Zero and Mikhail in the air, having gone mad from the Flower's effects and summons Ezrael. The Daemon dragon proved too hard to hit due to its rapid speed until Decadus sacrificed his human form to summon Armaros, slowing down Ezrael. Mikhail then finished off Three and Ezrael with flames.
During the Final Song, the Flower takes the form of Three and the other Intoners as giant statues. After neutralizing its power, Mikhail seals the Flower within another world, with the statues crumbling to pieces.
Appearance[]
Three has long purple hair and purple eyes, with a small "III" on her forehead. She wears a long purple dress with a black top around her cleavage and tied to her neck like a choker and drapes over her arms in white clothes. She wears long black gloves on her arms and long stockings on her legs. She wears a pair of purple high heels.
Her weapons of choice are a pair of long sharp scissors.
Personality[]
Three holds a strong interest in dolls, soon growing a sadistic side in experimentations that turn people or monsters into dolls. Aside from her fondness for experimentations, Three is very lazy and has no real motivation towards things that disinterest her. She tends to speak in riddles or metaphors even though most of them don't make sense.
When talking about her creations, Three rapidly describes the logistics in the experiments at a fast pace.
Daemons[]
Armisael[]
“ | Armisael, invade! | „ |
The Quickened Puppets of Antiquity, Armisael is an army of creatures resembling dolls that, while frail, attack in swarms and can explode if they latch on to a target. According to Octa, they are the results of the soldiers that Three experimented on. A singular large member serves as their leader, able to jump farther than its kin and shoot energy from its core.
Ezrael[]
“ | Redeem thyself, Ezrael! | „ |
Ezrael is a purple wyrm summoned by Three at the cost of her sanity. Like the other dragons, it can shoot powerful breaths of fire strengthened by Three's song. Additionally, its magic allowed it to teleport at a rapid pace, only neutralized once Decadus summoned Armaros.
Trivia[]
- Three is the only Intoner that Zero fights only once, in the Prologue.
