“ | With a love of violence and a feeling for meat, the twins were born to be chefs. As they shuffle across the cold floor, chopping, mincing, preparing the feast, the Twin Chefs sense something that makes their skin itch. A dirty, unwelcome presence. Vermin will not be tolerated in the kitchen. They use anything from hammers to cleavers and will not hesitate to turn them on intruders. | „ |
~ Website description. |
The Twin Chefs are the secondary antagonists of the indie horror video game Little Nightmares. They are large humanoids that are in charge of killing and cooking the Guests. If they catch Six, they will make her into their next dish.
Characteristics[]
The Chefs do noting other than cook, as they alone have to prepare a massive amount of food for the many Guests. They aren't very sanitary, scratching their bodies and stuffing food in their clothes while cooking. They use the elevators to get around, their obese figures making it hard for them to walk around. Other than the kitchen, one of the Twins appeared in the guest's quarters. In the quarters, they appeared to be chopping something on one of the rooms, implying they murdered one of the guests. Like the guests, the only other thing they are seen doing is sleeping.
In the twin's room, their toilet and bed seem to have been made to accompany both of them at the same time. They even have a picture of the two of them that features half their faces on one side and half on the other. The skin on their faces appear to either be someone else's or rotting off of their faces, as they lift them up to scratch underneath their faces. We ever see the mouths under their skin.
Like all of the other humanoids of the Maw, the Chefs are very hostile towards the small children that lurk in their area. When they hear a noise, they make a screech and then run to inspect. The Chefs will look around the area and even check underneath furniture, but for the most part they will give up seconds after not finding anything. If they catch a child, they will take it over to a table and stuff them into a piece of food to be cooked.
Appearance[]
Both Chefs have caucasian skin, droopy faces that aren't completely attached to the rest of their heads, heavy-set bodies covered in folds, dirty aprons (with one wearing white and the other brown), a patch of brown hair at the top of their heads, white chef's hats, and brown shoes. The first Chef has a scrunched face while the other's is very spread out.
Biography[]
After escaping the Janitor, Six will proceed to enter the Chef's territory. After clinging onto a meat hook, they proceeded to have their body carried to a room full of meat. In the distance, you are able to see one of the Twins staring out into the distance on a balcony before walking back inside. The player is first introduced to him after exiting the pantry and entering the Kitchen. The first twin will be chopping and preparing a piece of meat. Six will either need to alert him into entering the next room or wait for him to enter the next room in order for them to continue. Once the Chef begins cooking in the next room, Six must make their way to the back of the room and climb up a white cabinet. Once on the cabinet, they will need to climb across the ceiling boards and make their way to the Chef's room. If the Chef catches you, then he will watch you the entire time as you make your way there. Once in the Chef's living space, Six will need to make your way to the very back room where the second Chef is sleeping. There are multiple methods of waking him up, but once Six does, he will scratch himself and make his way to the elevator. His absence will allow Six to grab the get attached to the wall. They will make their way back to the elevator so that they can use it to unlock the lock on the door in the back of the second part of the kitchen. The first Chef will still be the only Chef in these rooms, as the other went to another part of the cooking zone.
After solving a sausage puzzle, Six will make their way through a freezer and to an elevator. Pulling the lever will bring down the elevator, with the second Chef inside. Six will quickly need to make their way back into the freezer and hide inside of a box in that room in order to avoid them. The Chef will chase after you, but once they loose sight of you, they will continue to do their work in the freezer. While they're doing their work, Six will need to sneak past them onto the elevator. Hearing you get onto the elevator will prompt him to chase you to the second level. Six hides in a vent, and thus the Chef gives up his search. He will make his way to the next room and start chopping meat. Six sneaks past him and walks into the second part of the room, where they will turn on a meat grinder and cause a distraction. When the Chef goes to fix the issue, Six will climb on top of the chopping table and grab a key. Once they have it, they will have to run as fast as they can to the elevator and unlock a door right in front of it on the second floor. The second Chef will again chase them, but unlocking the door will reveal a room with a box to hide in. Again, hiding inside of this will cause the Chef to give up his search. He'll leave through a door on the right side of this room, and Six will escape through a shoot.
Six will fall into a dump like area, and then crawl up the right side of the wall. When they reach the top, they will have to sneak underneath the floor of a room where both the Chefs are washing dishes. There will be bars keeping Six from continuing, so they will have to climb to the surface. Doing so will immediately alert the both of them and they will begin searching for you. Six will need ti make their way to the second part of the room where a wall of buttons and a lever is located. Six will need to pull the lever, which causes the hooks on the ceiling to change direction. Switching direction will again alert the Chefs, so Six will need to hide quickly. After he looses sight, Six will need to make their way to the pile of dishes. They will need to climb onto of it in order to make their escape. Climbing up will alert the chefs, and they will try to grab you. The second Chef will chase after you while you hang but the other will go to another room where they can get a better chance of grabbing you. Just before he does, Six will need to jump down and start running as fast as they can, because the second Chef will then kick down the door and begin chasing after them. After mongering themself to the back of the room, they will need to hop onto of some boxes and again grab onto the hooks. While you hang, the Chefs will throw bottles at you in an effort to knock you off, but this is a futile effort.
This was the last we saw of the second Chef, but not the first. In the Guest area, Six will pull down on an elevator handle and cause it to rise. Unfortunately for them; the second Chef is on this elevator, and once they reach the top, they will chase them all the way into the bathroom, after they can't find you, they will either pee in the urinal or leave. They are last seen in one of the guest rooms chopping something.
